In the Afterword for our new release book The Orphan Conspiracies, renowned historian and Professor of History at the University of Idaho, Dr. Richard Spence, points out that the multitude of “conspiracy theories” we present is “a prime example that we (humankind) do possess a tremendous capacity for deluding ourselves—and others.”

Richard B Spence

Dr. Richard Spence.

Dr. Spence asks, “So how can we determine what’s real and what’s not?”

His answer: “We can’t. We can just pick and choose what we want to believe and rationalize it as best we can. Reality, after all, is basically a movie projected inside our heads. It’s based on the colors our senses permit us to see, the sounds they permit us to hear and whatever else our brains let slip through the gates. But outside our limited senses, surrounding us, there is, unquestionably, a much greater reality, a universe we live in but cannot see. Well, most of us, anyway. Out there, in the dark, All Things Are Possible.”

Dr. Spence is well qualified to comment on such matters. At the University of Idaho, where he has taught since 1986, he specializes in Russian, intelligence and military history, and his course offerings include Modern Espionage, Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust, History of Secret Societies and the Occult in History.

An author in his own right, his published works include Boris Savinkov: Renegade on the Left (East European Monographs/Columbia Univ. Press, 1991), Trust No One: The Secret World of Sidney Reilly (Feral House, 2002) and Secret Agent 666: Aleister Crowley, British Intelligence and the Occult (Feral House, 2008).

Not all is what it seems! –James & Lance

****************************************************

In the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s vault a description of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is listed as follows: “Saddam Hussein (1937-2006) was the president of Iraq from 1979-2003. In 2003, coalition forces invaded Iraq and deposed Hussein. In 2006, he was tried by the Iraqi Interim Government and convicted of the retaliatory executions of 148 Iraqi Shiites. He was executed on December 30, 2006.”

Saddam Hussein hanging AFP

The FBI summary goes on to mention the “Iraqi Special Tribunal concerning Hussein’s commission of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.”

This image obtained from an Arab language website and seemingly shot on a camera phone appears to show former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein hanging on a noose after being executed.

Saddam in death.

Describing Saddam as a war criminal and an enemy of the West sounds to us like a fair summary that few would argue with.

As Steve Pickering, then intern with the Washington Peace Center (WPC), wrote for the center in a June 1998 article: “The history of Iraq under Saddam Hussein is one of harsh oppression, with widespread abuses of human rights, and frequent torture and murder of political opponents, or just those who displease him.”

However, even with the knowledge of Saddam’s confirmed atrocities, it seems there’s little doubt the US was in bed with him for decades before his eventual removal from power if the assertions of various independent researchers are correct.

To this day, those assertions remain theories – unproven in the eyes of many.

At the heart of such theories is the idea that the West needs enemies to lambast in the media in order to engineer wars. Once a leader like Saddam has been condemned, or at least heavily derided, through media propaganda the masses hardly blink when false flag attacks are attributed to those who have been labeled dictators, despots and war criminals.

“Saddam’s military machine is partly a creation of the Western powers,” according to American investigative journalist Murray Waas, who extensively researched and wrote about the Gulf Wars and earlier Middle East conflicts.

As is the case with many conspiracy theories, the theories surrounding Saddam Hussein are often extreme and unprovable. Some go so far as to say that Saddam, along with Osama Bin Laden, was CIA-trained; others suggest the real Saddam was killed long before he was officially put to death, and the man who was executed in 2006 was one of the Iraqi leader’s doubles.

There’s enough evidence to suggest the Iraqi leader had at least one double. But to our knowledge there’s no evidence to prove that the man they executed wasn’t the real deal.

However, at the very least, there’s a question that needs to be asked. It is: Why did Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney all have extensive dealings with Saddam Hussein?

The Iran-Iraq War

During the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988), it has been widely reported that governments of the US, Germany, France, the Soviet Union and the UK all sold Saddam vast quantities of weapons, including everything from missiles and armored vehicles to nerve gas and fighter planes.

Again, war is just about business to the global elite. And wars in the Middle East are big business.

Officially, the US was neutral in the Iran-Iraq conflict. Certainly, all White House and Pentagon statements made during that period confirm this supposed stance.

However, a US interests section cable since declassified under the Freedom of Information Act appears to radically contradict the official role of America in the conflict. It describes presidential envoy Donald Rumsfeld’s planned meeting with Saddam Hussein. Expected talking points for the meeting included the Iran-Iraq War – a war which the cable states the US “would regard any major reversal of Iraq’s fortunes as a strategic defeat for the West”.

It wasn’t just the US that profited from the Iran-Iraq War, of course. Numerous sources claim various industrialized nations were arming both sides during the conflict. For example, the Washington Times claimed that “France has been sleeping with Saddam for decades.”

Trench warfare during the bloody Iran-Iraq War.

Kentbridge spun around from the blackboard and held up an infamous photograph of former US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. The special agent gave the photo to Eleven, a stunning brunette orphan who had been genetically engineered for beauty. She looked at the image before sharing it with the other orphans. The Orphan Factory

That infamous photograph

One of the potential pieces of evidence that possibly confirms Saddam Hussein was a pawn of the West is a mysterious photograph he appears in with former US Secretary of Defense and then private businessman Donald Rumsfeld. This photo was taken in December 1983, at the height of the Iran-Iraq War, when Rumsfeld met with Saddam on behalf of President Ronald Reagan. The meeting took place in the Iraqi dictator’s Baghdad palace.

Rumsfeld-Saddam

Photos don’t lie…Rumsfeld meets Saddam.

This has become a much talked about photo in conspiracy circles, primarily because Saddam Hussein’s atrocities were known to the US Government by this point and the Reagan Administration claimed it fostered zero ties with Iraq.

Declassified documents reveal the main motivations of Rumsfeld’s semi-secret meeting with Saddam were to discuss how to increase Iraqi oil production via new pipelines in the region and preventing arms sales to Iran by foreign countries – potential outcomes of which were both deemed beneficial to US interests.

In The Orphan Factory, our orphans are shown the photo of Rumsfeld and Saddam during a lecture in the fictitious Pedemont Orphanage. The following excerpt from this passage provides what we believe could be an accurate summation of the background to that historic photo shoot:

“That photo was taken in Baghdad in 1983 during the Iran-Iraq War,” Kentbridge stated. “Officially, Donald Rumsfeld was sent as special envoy of President Reagan. The thing is though, people, Saddam was already a known war criminal by that stage.”

When the revealing photo reached Nine, he studied it before flipping it over. On the reverse side was a handwritten question. It read: Saddam Hussein = CIA Puppet?

Nine turned the photo over again and inspected Rumsfeld’s smiling face. The handshake looked suspiciously like a deal had gone down. Nine couldn’t be certain, but nothing would surprise him given the game he understood secret organizations such as Omega orchestrated on the world stage.

The ninth orphan also understood that game often involved an official story – usually presented to the media via politicians – that created a believable enough smokescreen to conceal the truth. And he was learning the truth nearly always had to do with money and power.

In his 2006 memoir Known and Unknown, Rumsfeld denies any wrongdoing in the 1983 meeting with Saddam. He states his meeting with the Iraqi President “has been the subject of gossip, rumors, and crackpot conspiracy theories for more than a quarter of a century… Supposedly I had been sent to see Saddam by President Reagan either to negotiate a secret oil deal, to help arm Iraq, or to make Iraq an American client state. The truth is that our encounter was more straightforward and less dramatic.”

However, various official US Government documents fly in the face of Rumsfeld’s denials. For example, one declassified document points out that a major issue discussed in the meeting between Rumsfeld and Saddam was the “expansion of Iraqi pipeline facilities”. Another declassified document – a cable from Charles H. Price II to the Department of State retrieved from the US Embassy in the UK – states that Rumsfeld encouraged “arrangements that might provide alternative transshipment routes for Iraq’s oil, including pipelines through Saudi Arabia or to the Gulf of Aqaba in Jordan.”

Beyond the photo itself, video recordings of the 1983 Rumsfeld-Saddam meeting have been posted on YouTube and other Internet sites in recent years. In these videos, Rumsfeld looks surprisingly at home in the Iraqi dictator’s grand palace – as you’ll see for yourself if you check them out.

Rumsfeld and Saddam…old chums.

“Conspiracy means there is more than one player knowingly engaged. But with that term (conspiracy), you think of all the people with the tin foil on their heads before you think of what it really means. So these people are often discounted before you even hear them … I think the best way to hide is to do it in broad daylight and in public. So, a lot of your present-day conspiracies are literally major multi-national corporations working with governments, including America’s, to extract minerals from countries with ridiculous contracts to oil.” –Henry Rollins. Excerpt from an interview with the Swerve Magazine.

The Gulf Wars

In 1989, President George H. W. Bush signed a National Security Directive ordering closer ties with Iraq. Yet conversely, around the same time, Bush condemned Saddam Hussein in press interviews – like the one in which he accused the Iraqi leader as being “worse than Hitler.”

The following year, in 1990, the First Gulf War began and the US invaded Iraq.

It was one of the most surreal wars ever, and few if any journalists seemed to be able to accurately describe what caused it. Other than the obvious, that is. We refer of course to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait – something countries do to each other with frightening regularity and with little or no interference from the international community.

Iraq invades Kuwait.

Someone said the First Gulf War was like a movie without a screenwriter. Can’t remember who it was who said that. Wait a minute…oh yes, it was us! Certainly, it seemed to lack a coherent storyline or plot.

Some journos observed that the war was about overthrowing a dictator, which didn’t happen if you recall, while others said it was fighting to free the Iraqi people, which didn’t happen either.

As former Pentagon defense analyst Pierre Sprey told Congress, “The shallow, Nintendo view of the war on TV was false. It was created by hand-picked video tapes and shamelessly doctored statistics.”

Let’s return to the June 1998 article Washington Peace Center intern Steve Pickering wrote for the center. It was curiously headlined The Making of an Enemy: Saddam Hussein. In this insightful article, which was written in the interim between the First and Second Gulf Wars, Pickering goes to great lengths to acknowledge the Iraqi leader’s war crimes, but also mentions US “foreign policy propaganda” and states the US had reasons for “demonizing Saddam Hussein”. He claims those reasons had nothing to do with fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people.

In the article, Pickering goes on to describe how throughout the period of the Iran-Iraq conflict “United States foreign policy was firmly in support of Iraq”. During this time, the Soviet Union, the UK, the US and various other major nations, all saw their (mainly oil) interests being threatened. As “the war shifted in Iran’s favor,” these superpowers and industrialized nations suddenly realized if Iran defeated the Iraqi regime, “Iraq would have become a mirror of the political situation seen in Iran”.

“In order to tip the scales back in the favor of Iraq,” Pickering continues, “the international community began to supply technologically advanced weapons, credit facilities and important military information to Iraq.”

Pickering also explains how the West saw its Middle Eastern interests threatened again in 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Only this time, Iraq was in the position Iran had formerly been in where they were the ones threatening Western interests.

And thus, Pickering concludes, Western media suddenly informed the public of “the horrors of Saddam Hussein, of his despotic control, of his endless paranoid quest for power”.

From the many years he’d spent in the Omega Agency, the special agent understood there were no obvious good guys or bad guys on the world stage. Contrary to the PR spin generated within Congress and spoon-fed to the well-meaning American public by a gullible or at least malleable media, Kentbridge also knew there were no clear sides anymore. As he often told the orphans, patriotism was a useless emotion because the modern world was no longer shaped by countries or governments. In fact, nations had long since been superseded by the vast spider web of elite conspirators spanning the globe. The Orphan Factory

The Iraq War

File:UStanks baghdad 2003.JPEG

US tanks enter Baghdad.

The plot thickens when we come to the Iraq War (aka the Second Gulf War). That’s the conflict that followed the George W. Bush Administration’s erroneous allegation that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Conspiracy theorists and opponents of that war are pretty unanimous in their opinion of the WMD allegation. Most view it as a trumped-up justification to invade Iraq. Whether those two factions are right or wrong about that is still up for debate. However, we all know that weapons of mass destruction were never found despite the best efforts of the Bush Administration and the UN weapon inspectors on the ground.

Further allegations leading up to the American-led coalition’s invasion of Iraq in 2003 included the never-proven and apparently unfounded accusation that Saddam was harboring al Qaeda terrorists and, of course, that old chestnut that the Iraqi Government was responsible for the most despicable human rights abuses.

There’s no doubting the validity of the latter allegation. Under Saddam, Iraq had a terrible and well documented reputation for abuses of human rights. However, the same could be said of numerous other countries – then and now.

Remember Rwanda? In just three months, in 1994, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans (mainly Tutsis) were killed in one of the worst cases of genocide in the 20th Century.

But where were the Coalition Forces then? They were conspicuous by their absence. Could it have something to do with the fact that Rwanda has few natural resources and little strategic value?

Iraq on the other hand was, and is, almost literally swimming in oil. According to Wikipedia, Iraq has 143 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, which ranks it second in the world behind Saudi Arabia for reserves of the precious black gold.

Starting to get the picture?

Even Saddam Hussein’s capture and subsequent execution in 2006 sparked a flood of conspiracy theories, throughout the Middle East in particular.

Theories to emerge from the Arab world have ranged from Saddam being an agent of America, waging war against Iran to help out the US, and even the suggestion that Saddam was already a prisoner of the Americans who, for PR reasons, opted to delay his capture.

This last conspiracy theory was highlighted in WND Weekly’s online news site beneath the heading The mother of all conspiracy theories. In an article dated December 19, 2003, WND quotes Middle East Media Research Institute senior analyst Dr. Nimrod Raphaeli who, it says, “explains the dramatic flowering of fanciful explanations for Saddam’s capture”.

Dr. Raphaeli is quoted as saying, “Almost every calamity that adversely affects the Arab world prompts conspiracy theories that are quickly woven into intricate shapes and patterns to demonstrate innocence and blame others for the calamity. In recent times this was demonstrated by conspiracy theories surrounding the September 11th attack and the terrorist attacks inside Saudi Arabia. The capture of Saddam Hussein served as yet another new cause celebre generating, to paraphrase Saddam’s own words, ‘the mother of all conspiracies’.”

Perhaps the most iconic photo of Saddam…taken in Baghdad in 2000.

It seems clear there’s enough smoke to indicate the presence of fire regarding the West’s demonizing and usage of Saddam Hussein, in particular by the US. And that fire would prove that at least some of the conspiracy theories regarding the Iraqi leader and the Gulf Wars are true, or at least very close to the mark.

Then again, we’ve never been to Iraq and we don’t have a direct line to the White House. Nor do we know anyone in the Bush family. So again we ask, why listen to us?

Not all is what it seems! –James & Lance

******************************************************

Almost every conspiracy theory in recent years at least references the New World Order (NWO) in some way.

There are various versions of the NWO Theory, depending on who is telling it and what their agenda may be – if they have an agenda, which they usually do! However, in the simplest of terms, the theory suggests the global elite are subtly directing our civilization toward a totalitarian one world government.

This is apparently being orchestrated by leading politicians, including heads of state, who are implementing policies to allow for a one world government that will eventually replace sovereign nation-states. Once a reality, such a governing body so empowered would naturally set laws that reflect the global elite’s core philosophies.

Methods used by the global elite to action this NWO plan are said to embrace many of the subjects covered so far in this book, including media propaganda, central banking and engineering wars with false flag attacks.

It all sounds possible – at least within the context of this book – right?

The only problem is, NWO conspiracy theories are often trumpeted by those who are more than a few pennies short of a pound and have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality.

Those commonly peddling one world government ideas include anti-Semites blaming Jewish people for every problem under the sun, religious zealots who believe the NWO will bring about apocalyptic scenarios, UFO gurus warning an alien invasion is imminent, and indeed all those other conspiracy extremists who together form our beloved Tinfoil Hat Network.

So, all this talk of a NWO is a bunch of BS then. Right?

Um…maybe. Or maybe not.

“The only salvation for civilization lies in the creation of a world government” –Albert Einstein

Money talks

If any group had the authority to direct the planet towards a NWO, it would be the world’s financial elite.

Many independent researchers have said the bulk of the world’s money supply is in the hands of less than 1000 families. Yep you read that right: the bulk of the world’s money supply is in the hands of less than 1000 families.

These families would include the Rockefellers, the British Royals, the Marcos and Bush clans as well as other elite dynasties mentioned in this book.Their fortunes consist of Old World money, invisible money and blood money.

In a similar vein, David Rothkopf’s 2008 book, Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making, states that the world is governed by a group of 6000 elite individuals.

And according to Oxfam’s 2014 economic briefing, the wealth of the top 1% in the world amounts to US$110 trillion. That’s 65 times the total wealth of the bottom half of the world’s population.

“Marcia Wilson was a good example of Omega’s core strategy for creating a New World Order. It involved placing their people, or moles, in positions of power within the CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon, the White House and global organizations like the UN, the IMF and the World Bank. This enabled Omega to pull some of the strings of these organizations and to direct American, and world politics, to an extent.” The Ninth Orphan

Another staggering statistic from Oxfam’s briefing was that, collectively, the financial worth of the world’s 85 wealthiest people approximately equals that of the poorer half of the world’s total population. In other words, and get this – the richest 85 individuals have as much wealth as the 3.5 billion or so people who make up 50% of the world’s population and who are categorized as the poorest on the planet!

What if those 85 Rich Listers got together – assuming they or their representatives haven’t already – and agreed on certain things? Things like lobbying for a one world currency, for example, or anything else that fits their definition of a better world? With their financial clout and inherent power, would they not be capable of creating a New World Order of sorts?

Kentbridge continued, “There are different types of New World Order scenarios. One would be a world government ruled by a totalitarian regime like the Nazis were working toward. That would obviously be destructive. Another scenario would be one in which a fairer world is created. That’s what we are aiming for. We can unite everybody worldwide and create everlasting peace.” The Orphan Factory

In The Orphan Trilogy, we refer to two secret organizations, the Omega Agency and the Nexus Foundation, whom we describe as having ambitions to create a NWO on their terms. Omega and Nexus are inspired by shadow organizations rumored to exist in today’s world – shadowy, real-world organizations, which according to conspiracy theorists are hell-bent on achieving a NWO.

But beyond works of fiction, is there any truth behind this conspiracy theory?

We got no idea. Why ask us? We have no answers, remember? We’re merely dramatists posing a number of questions, but we can theorize of course. (You may have noticed by now we tend to specialize in that).

A NWO by increments

There is a theory that suggests the NWO will be achieved in stages.

Firstly, blocks of countries such as the African Union, the European Union and the proposed North American Union between the US, Canada and Mexico combine.

Proudly waving…flags of the EU.

Secondly, before you know it, global organizations pop up all over the show, including the World Bank, the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund – their presence and power magnifying with each passing day.

Thirdly, and last of all, a one world government is formed. Then, apparently, it’s too late to do anything about it and the global elite have won, according to conspiracy theorists.

Imagine waking up to headlines announcing that your nation’s government has relinquished the reigns of power to a one world government. Hells bells!

The global elite may have completed steps one and two (above), but step three, the formation of a one world government, has so far eluded them.

So, if this is a game of soccer, it’s currently 2-0 to the global elite, according to you-know-who. However, it ain’t game over yet.

The dollar bill conspiracy theory

Above…CommonsenseConspiracy.com’s take on this theory.

Probably the most high profile and best known reference to the NWO, in America at least, is the much-touted US One Dollar Bill Theory. As many a proud member of the Tinfoil Hat Network will tell anyone who is half-listening to them, written on the US dollar bill is a Latin Phrase that translates as New World Order.

We even heard a well-known conspiracy theory radio show host tell his audience, “As everybody knows, it’s a fact that the words New World Order are written in Latin on the dollar bill.”

Apparently, many American school kids accept this as fact as well.

The only problem is the Latin phrase novus ordo seclorum, which has been on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States since 1782, and on the reverse of the dollar bill since 1935, doesn’t translate to New World Order; it actually translates to New Order of the Ages.

Instead of a New World Order and toppling of nation-states, New Order of the Ages is commonly acknowledged by experts as being a reference to a new era of the United States of America, suggesting the nation will go from strength to strength. This appears to directly contradict the NWO claim, as nations are supposed to get weaker not stronger in the build-up to a one world government.

However, conspiracy theorists, especially the Tinfoil Hatter extremists, continue to claim that the direct Latin translation is just a smokescreen and the dollar bill does in fact allude to a coming NWO.

It seems the word mistranslation isn’t part of the vocab of the Tinfoil Hat Network’s members.

Kentbridge passionately believed that Omega – or the Light, as Naylor sometimes referred to the agency – was America’s, and the world’s, only hope of ever unifying. And unification was the only solution for he was also aware that while the public was dividing and conquering itself by focusing on banal, media-driven conflicts such as Neoconservatives versus Liberals, democracy versus terrorism and the West versus the rest, destructive covert outfits were slowly but surely growing stronger. The special agent also understood how groups like Nexus fostered and benefited from the climate of fear perpetuated in television broadcasts and newspaper headlines. As long as Americans were consumed by fear of evildoers, whether these be communists, terrorists, religious extremists or any other potential enemy, he knew they would never realize the greatest enemy of all was operating within within the West, within America, within their own Government. The Orphan Factory

Puppet masters pulling strings again

As we’ve revealed in earlier chapters, most if not all of the world’s senior leaders have pledged allegiance to at least one elitist organization such as the Bilderberg Group, Bohemian Grove, Freemasons or the Council on Foreign Relations. The NWO concept is interrelated with these secret handshakes and closeted meetings.

Remember those invisible puppet masters we referred to in chapter 3? And the little known founding members of those organizations we name above? And the people who are rumored to be manipulating the higher profile members of those same organizations?

Well, if a NWO exists, those puppet masters would likely be the orchestrators of it. They would be the ones quietly but diligently setting up the beginnings of aone world government.

In 2001, one of the founders of the Bilderberg Group and likely puppet master Denis Healey said: “To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair. Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn’t go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing.”

As they watched and listened to the recorded speech, the orphans noted something which the vast majority of political commentators, and certainly the public at large, had never picked up on. That something was that President Bush subtly mentioned the phrase New World Order several times throughout his speech. The Orphan Factory

Bush’s New World Order speech

NWO came to some prominence in 1990 when President George H. W. Bush said in a speech to Congress, “Now, we can see a new world coming into view. A world in which there is the very real prospect of a new world order”.

Conspiracy theorists claimed this was the President announcing – albeit in code – the elite were one step closer to creating a one world government that would dominate the planet and eliminate all dissenters, starting with the Iraqi people.

“It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am”. –George Washington

Illuminati

Author Dan Brown’s 2003 mega bestseller The Da Vinci Code introduced many in the mainstream to the Illuminati, even though a thousand and one NWO theories had referred to this mysterious group well before the novel ever hit bookstore shelves.

But like the novel, the infamous Illuminati secret society is a mixture of fact and fiction. And probably more fiction than fact.

The (true) Illuminati story begins in Europe with historical records showing the Order of the Illuminati was founded by German professor Adam Weishaupt, in Bavaria, in 1776. The underground organization was a type of breakaway group that separated from European Freemasonry, with most of the founding members being recruited from German Masonic Lodges. In 1785, the order was destroyed from within by agent provocateurs working for the Bavarian Government, which feared secret societies could eventually overthrow the ruling Bavarian Monarchy.

Unfortunately, that’s where the facts and historical evidence surrounding the Illuminati end. Virtually every other supposed piece of Illuminati evidence that conspiracy buffs put forward is debatable at best and pure fantasy at worst.

In the late 1700’s and early 1800’s, there were many prominent figures who surmised that the Illuminati may have somehow survived and masterminded key historical events, including the French Revolution.

But again, there’s no evidence of this.

However, those rumors are nothing compared to more recent rumors, which reflect fear and paranoia.

Between the First and Second World Wars, as fascism advanced, various rampant anti-Semitics said the Illuminati served elite Jewish bankers who, they claimed, were dividing Europe to gain financial control and create a Jewish type of NWO. It’s possible some of these Illuminati theories aided in creating a furtive and fertile environment for the likes of the Nazi Party to assume power so easily.

In the early 21st Century, Illuminati folklore has blossomed, perhaps off the back of The Da Vinci Code, or maybe it has more to do with increases in mental illness cases!

The supposed mind control program Project Monarch, which we covered in chapter 2, is closely tied in with modern Illuminati theories. If you Google phrases like mind controlled celebrities or Hollywood stars and the music industry, you’ll find countless conspiracy theories referring to the Illuminati and its numerous “Monarch slaves”.

Music stars in particular are said to be Monarch victims, and common names bandied about include Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. What’s more, they all supposedly use Illuminati symbolism in their music videos.

None of the Tinfoil Hatters ever seem to consider that these ancient Illuminati symbols could have simply been hijacked by modern and infinitely less powerful groups. This is what Dan Brown seems to be getting at in his Robert Langdon novel Angel’s & Demons, when he writes, “It means that when organized philosophies like the Illuminati go out of existence, their symbols remain… available for adoption by other groups. It’s called transference. It’s very common in symbology. The Nazis took the swastika from the Hindus, the Christians adopted the cruciform from the Egyptians”.

Furthermore, any death of an A-List celebrity is always claimed to be Illuminati-orchestrated, according to conspiracy extremists. For example, on February 2, 2014, the day Academy Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman tragically died, YouTube was awash with hastily compiled videos featuring titles such as “Philip Seymour Hoffman Murdered by Illuminati” and “PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN…ILLUMINATI SACRIFICE?”

Philip Seymour Hoffman's primary photo

Philip Seymour Hoffman.

None of those who promote such theories ever seem to question whether the Illuminati still exists. Nor do their followers, it seems. Again, the last confirmation of the Illuminati’s existence was in 1785. Something tells us if they still were around, there would have been at least one verification of their presence in the more than two centuries that have since elapsed.

Nor do these conspiracy theorists ever seem to acknowledge there’s not a shred of evidence to prove Project Monarch exists. Instead, Monarch gets lumped in with the highly documented CIA mind control program MK-Ultra. This is rather deceitful to say the least.

Some celebrities, including Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian and Howard Stern, have fought back against the keyboard warriors who make such videos or write such blogs, by issuing media statements and publicly denying they are members of the Illuminati.

Jay-Z's primary photo  Kim Kardashian's primary photo

Jay-Z and Kim Kardashian…fighting back.

Unfortunately, when such high profile names defend themselves like this, it only seems to add fuel to the Illuminati fire.

“For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as internationalists and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” –David Rockefeller from his 2002 autobiography Memoirs.

So where does all that leave us when it comes to deciding whether or not a New World Order exists?

Dunno. (Surely by now you realize we don’t have any answers to offer)!

If you really want our opinion – and we are not quite sure why on earth you would – we’d have to say there does seem to be a NWO, or the beginnings of one at least, but it’s probably in a different form than most conspiracy theorists imagine. (And we use the word imagine advisedly). Ever the optimists, we’d like to think it’s in a form that will facilitate sharing of nations’ resources, elimination of wars and poverty, and promotion of peace and cooperation worldwide.

But maybe – quite possibly in fact – there is no NWO in the making and maybe there never was. In which case, we’ll keep this note to ourselves handy and read it every time we sit in front of our keyboards: Remove our tinfoil hats before we write anything.

New refugee camp still closed to starving Somali refugees as supply airlift to Mogadishu is postponed

The media regularly reminds us of the billions of dollars in aid First World governments and international aid organizations grant annually to impoverished Third World nations.

The official story goes that Western nations are extremely generous in assisting the development of the Third World. And few would argue with this summary as even when countries like the UK, Germany or the US are in an economic slump, they are never shy of giving vast sums to poorer nations in times of need.

This is especially true when it comes organizing relief efforts for natural disasters. Major catastrophes like the Pakistan floods, the Haiti earthquake and the Indian Ocean tsunami are recent examples of massive amounts of aid being raised almost overnight.

Syrian_Refugee_Camp

What if all this aid is not charitable, but completely selfish? What if it isn’t actually giving, but taking? What if all the generosity has serious strings attached – strings designed to fleece vulnerable nations?

And what if the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and other such financial aid organizations are all gigantic scams designed to subjugate Third World countries?

Sounds ridiculous, right?

Wrong, many globalization commentators would contest.

Before we expand on this alternative version of international aid, we’d like to separate the aforementioned aid organizations and their ilk from the genuine aid and charity organizations. They are too many genuine organizations to list here, but they include the likes of Save the Children, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, CARE, Oxfam and Refugees Internationals. Whilst some of these organizations have their critics, most people would agree their intentions are noble, the services they deliver invaluable – often lifesaving – and the people delivering those services extremely conscientious and passionate about what they do.

To achieve this NWO and expand the super-secret Omega Agency, the founding members knew they needed to create enormous wealth in the quickest possible time. The easiest way to do that, in their view, was to siphon as many mineral riches as they could out of Third World countries. It was an age-old practice, tried and tested, but never before attempted on the enormous scale Omega was gearing up for.The Orphan Factory

The alternative version of international aid suggests that money given or loaned by international aid organizations like the IMF and the World Bank is no different to banks dolling out credit cards to individual customers. And just as banks offer credit to customers so that they (the banks) can make money, this theory also suggests these big, so-called aid organizations are purely profit-motivated and not remotely charitable.

Let’s explore this comparison a little deeper…

Banks know that some customers will pay off their credit cards quickly without incurring much interest. They also know a small percentage will have to be written off as bad debts, and they allow for this in their profit forecasts. However, the vast majority of customers who take on new credit cards will be indebted to the bank for months, years or even for the rest of their lives. Some of these customers will manage, barely, while some will be completely snowed under and one step away from bankruptcy.

Banks make the bulk of their profits by keeping most of their customers in this perpetual cycle of paying off interest, and that’s why they regularly offer customers more credit – even, or especially, customers who are already having trouble getting themselves out of the debt cycle and who can least afford it.

Following this analogy, on the international stage the World Bank, the IMF and Western governments are the equivalent of smaller, personal banks, and impoverished Third World nations are the equivalent of customers accepting and using credit cards. Overall, the rules are virtually identical – foster a reliance on credit amongst those you lend to then ensure the interest rates are so extreme the debt can never be paid off.

World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. advertises ending poverty…Ironic perhaps?

Once poor Third World nations are beholden to lenders, First World governments and their allied corporations regularly demand favors in return. Those favors include relinquishing political control or simply turning a blind eye to the plunder of natural resources, or both. Manipulating the power structure of countries is done in a multitude of ways, including rigging elections, making under-the-table payments and organizing political assassinations.

When these nations are crushed, enslaved even, beneath mountains of debt, this creates enormous ongoing revenues for the lenders through high interest rates. It also allows for untold injustices to be perpetrated by major multinational corporations – injustices such as oil companies pumping toxins into rivers, logging companies destroying entire forests, pharmaceutical giants performing illegal human experimentation, manufacturers hiring people to work in inhumane conditions in sweat shops, and in some cases employing child labor.

“Western governments tax their citizens to fund the World Bank, lend this money to corrupt Third World dictators who abscond with the funds, and then demand repayment which is extracted through taxation from poor Third World citizens, rather than from the government officials responsible for the embezzlement. It is in essence a global transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. Taxpayers around the world are forced to subsidize the lavish lifestyles of Third World dictators and highly-paid World Bank bureaucrats who don’t even pay income tax.” –Ron Paul’s statement at the World Bank Hearing, May 22, 2007

Overshadowing individual nations

Some of these dirty economic tactics used against vulnerable nations are examples of modern imperialism in action. This is especially true with the US, which as previously alluded to is in many ways the world’s last remaining superpower. With hundreds of military bases worldwide and untold intelligence agents strategically placed in almost every country on Earth, the American empire is unlike any other.

Unfortunately, America’s foreign activities all too often result in large amounts of collateral damage.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) logo is seen at the IMF headquarters building during the 2013 Spring Meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington, April 18, 2013. REUTERS/Yuri Gripas

If we are ruffling any patriotic feathers in this chapter then you’re viewing it all wrong because the reality is no powerful country – be it the US or the UK, Russia or France – is immune to financial domination from the likes of the World Bank and the IMF. The recent financial austerity measures placed upon EU nations like Portugal, Greece and Spain are prime examples of this.

There’s no reason to suggest if a country like the US slipped into a deep enough economic recession that corrupt international financial organizations would not swoop to enslave Americans in a web of debt. In fact, many conspiracy theorists, and more than a few economists, believe this is already happening to America.

The key point is nearly all the decisions to commit these destructive acts against Third World countries are made above governmental level. And above countries, too. For it’s not about governments or countries, and it never was. It’s simply about the powerful global elite who secretly rule the media, the politicians, the political parties, the governments and ipso facto, the countries.

The privileged individuals and families who comprise the global elite will happily bankrupt their own countrymen, decimate their own community and evict their neighbors from houses in their desperate bid to increase their wealth.

“About 21,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes, according to the United Nations. This is one person every four seconds … Sadly, it is children who die most often. Yet there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. The problem is that hungry people are trapped in severe poverty. They lack the money to buy enough food to nourish themselves. Being constantly malnourished, they become weaker and often sick. This makes them increasingly less able to work, which then makes them even poorer and hungrier. This downward spiral often continues until death for them and their families.” –Official statement on the poverty.com website as at February 2014

End poverty now – or later…or much later

If you haven’t picked up on it already, we believe world poverty can be fixed. And fixed quickly.

Some of you may be doubting our sanity about now. At the very least, you’ll be thinking we are underestimating the task at hand, and that poverty’s far too big a challenge to solve any time soon.

But consider this for a moment: the United Nations Development Program estimated in 1998 that it would only cost an additional US$40 billion above current aid payments at the time to completely eradicate poverty as we know it. This figure was broken down as per the following necessary (US dollar) payments: $13 billion extra for every person on Earth to have enough food as well as access to basic health care; an additional $12 billion to cover reproductive health for all women worldwide; $6 billion extra to provide basic education for all; and an additional $9 billion to provide clean water and sanitation for every man, woman and child on the planet.

Now that $40 billion figure was in 1998 dollars, of course, and the world’s biggest problems have arguably gotten worse since then. So let’s allow for inflation and let’s also assume the UN underestimated the amount required.

Let’s say $200 billion dollars, or five times what the UN estimated, is needed over and above current aid payments. To our eyes, that seems a small price to pay for what would undoubtedly be the greatest moment in human history.

Two hundred billion is also a fraction of the cost governments of major nations like China, the US, Russia and the UK spend on their annual military budgets. By some estimates, the Afghanistan conflict alone has cost America more than a trillion dollars, with all wars since 9/11 said to have cost America several trillion dollars. However, waging wars is clearly a far bigger priority than ending poverty.

“It’s an amazing thing to think that ours is the first generation in history that really can end extreme poverty, the kind that means a child dies for lack of food in its belly. That should be seen as the most incredible, historic opportunity but instead it’s become a millstone around our necks. We let our own pathetic excuses about how it’s difficult justify our own inaction. Be honest. We have the science, the technology, and the wealth. What we don’t have is the will, and that’s not a reason that history will accept.” –Bono, interview to the World Association of Newspapers for World Press Freedom Day. May 3, 2004.

Profiting from war

Ever wonder why peace in certain countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo is never achieved no matter how many thousands of international peacekeepers are sent?

The answer may be that despite appearances, the world’s powers-that-be don’t actually want peace in those countries to be achieved any time soon.

Engaging in diplomatic talks and sending in UN peacekeepers is just a farce, apparently. According to our research, it’s far more lucrative for the global elite to keep wars going so the invaders can plunder resources for as long as they can. If we are correct in this analysis, then maybe wars like Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam were not about winning, but something else. Something much more sinister.

More than any other region on the planet, Africa’s probably the best example of these vicious, imperialistic strategies. Unfortunately for Africa it has many, many resources the outside world wants, needs and will kill to get its hands on. Resources like its vast water reserves, unlimited land, oil and precious metals such as gold, diamonds, cobalt and uranium to name a few. Not to mention the continent’s wildlife and cheap human labor.

U2’s lead singer Bono possibly summarized it best in a 2004 speech he gave at the University of Pennsylvania when he said, “Africa needs justice as much as it needs charity.”

In The Ninth Orphan, we wrote the following pertinent paragraphs about the African continent:

As the seemingly well-intentioned French journalist spoke about Africas scarcity and its limited resources, Nine smiled to himself almost condescendingly. He considered such statements an absolute joke. Africa did not, nor did it ever have, limited resources.

Nine knew something the journalist obviously didnt: Africa was the most abundantly resourced continent on the planet bar none. Like the despots who ruled much of the region, and the foreign governments who propped them up, he knew there was more than enough wealth in Africas mineral resources such as gold, diamonds and oil not to mention the land that nurtured these resources for every man, woman and child.

He thought it unfortunate Africa had never been able to compete on a level playing field. The continents almost unlimited resources were the very reason foreigners had meddled in African affairs for the past century or more. Nine knew it was Omegas plan, and that of other greedy organizations, to siphon as much wealth as they could out of vulnerable Third World countries, especially in Africa.

The same organizations had the formula down pat: they indirectly started civil wars in mineral-rich regions by providing arms to opposing local factions, and sometimes even helped to create famines, in order to destabilize African countries. This made the targeted countries highly vulnerable to international control. Once the outside organizations had divided and conquered, they were then able to plunder the country’s resources.

The defeated eyes of the starving children on screen reminded Nine of his fellow orphans growing up in the Pedemont Orphanage. Although he had never experienced malnutrition, he knew what it was like to be born into a living hell.

Sadly, since The Ninth Orphan was published in 2011, not much has changed in Africa; international governments, multinational corporations and the likes of the World Bank and the IMF continue to profit from Africa’s vulnerability.

Wars in numerous African countries continue to go unchallenged and untold millions are raped, killed, maimed and starved while the rest of the world just looks on. It has become such a repetitious story in Africa that wars in the region rarely make international headlines anymore.

Conflict in Africa…all too familiar.

Divide and conquer. That’s the global elite’s proven strategy when it comes to its treatment of Third World countries in Africa and indeed throughout the world. Or, to put it another way, order out of chaos is the global elite’s favored tactic. They engineer chaos by financing both sides of revolutions, movements and civil wars then create order by providing solutions to governments and citizens in these war-torn countries.

To quote the British group James from their 2008 song Ha Ma: “War is just about business.”

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

One of the best testimonies toward this conspiracy against Third World nations is John Perkins’ 2004 bestselling book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.

The book mentions how it’s no longer necessary to invade other countries to plunder their resources. Now there are other easier ways to achieve this.

Much of the old invade-and-occupy strategy has been replaced by economics. As JFK once said, it’s now about “infiltration instead of invasion,” and there are many ways to successfully infiltrate a nation. It can be done by owning politicians and thereby subtly implementing policies, or it can be done by buying a nation’s media and feeding that nation’s citizens propaganda.

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man describes how mysterious independent contractors known as economic hit men cheat poor countries all over the world out of trillions of dollars. They’re paid large sums to creatively influence and/or bribe leading politicians in developing nations to make policy changes that suit multinational corporations. These policy changes usually revolve around either giving up the developing nation’s resources to offshore interests or accepting large Halliburton-esque building contracts.

Perkins describes how the main job of an economic hit man is to persuade the leaders of Third World nations to accept multi-billion dollar development loans from (guess who?) the IMF and World Bank – that’s right, the usual suspects!

Once economic hit men have carried out a hit on a nation, the US doesn’t need to invade that nation or, indeed, do anything more. The profits automatically flow into the US while all the hard work is done by the impoverished citizens of the targeted nation.

Perkins claims he was formerly one of these economic hit men and was hired by America’s National Security Agency (NSA) to carry out hits against vulnerable and mineral-rich Third World countries.

As Perkins writes in the book’s preface: “Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly-paid professionals, who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign aid organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet’s natural resources. Their tools included fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization. I should know; I was an EHM.”

As a result of his tenure of many years as an EHM, of which he expresses much guilt, Perkins claims in the book that the developing nations he worked in were in the end crippled economically and virtually remote-controlled politically.

Interestingly, in the epilogue to the 2006 edition of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, Perkins writes that the supposedly generous offer by G8 nations to wipe all Third World debt was a trick. He states the catch was that to erase all their debts these countries would be forced to privatize almost all their assets, including electricity, water, education and health. Perkins argues this would potentially leave these countries worse off in the long run.

In 2009, a documentary film titled Apologies of an Economic Hit Man was released. It includes poignant interviews with Perkins. The film, which was directed by Stelios Kouloglou, was shown at film festivals around the world.

Perkins’ confessions serve as an important reminder that the winner takes all mindset at the root of capitalism is a poison if left unchecked. That’s not to say capitalism is bad per sē, or that a more refined version of it cannot work effectively. Nor does it mean the world should move toward socialism or communism, which have both proven throughout history to be just as disastrous. But surely the world’s recent financial catastrophes and the bankrupting of individuals, families, small businesses, communities and entire nations, must make even the most ardent capitalist examine his or her beliefs.

“We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence – on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”–President John F. Kennedy, speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. April 27, 1961, New York City.

We accept that a lot of the ideas in this chapter seem very extreme. Many of our readers will no doubt find it hard, or perhaps impossible, to believe world leaders could view nations like Haiti, Somalia and Cambodia as being nothing other than money-spinners.

In attempting to understand how the global elite think, we would draw your attention to National Security Memorandum 200, a recently declassified document headed ‘Implications for Worldwide Population Growth for US Security & Overseas Interests’ and dated 10 December 10, 1974. In it, National Security consultant (and favorite of old boy networks like Bilderberg, CFR and Bohemian Grove) Henry Kissinger, states, “Depopulation should be the highest priority of US foreign policy towards the Third World,” to secure mineral resources for the US.

Exactly how depopulation of the Third World was to be accomplished wasn’t specified in the document. Kissinger may have favored obvious methods like keeping certain countries in perpetual states of war, famine and scarcity. Or the depopulation he encouraged could perhaps be achieved through something much more nefarious – possibly even something along the lines of the purposeful spread of AIDS, which was a conspiracy theory mentioned in chapter 15.

Either way, Kissinger’s statement is both scary and profound. If depopulation is on the table then fleecing the Third World of all its riches and keeping its citizens impoverished actually seems benign by comparison.

But listen, maybe we just don’t understand the world we’re in. Who knows, perhaps the mad pursuit of profits at all costs will eventually rid the world of poverty, and maybe certain economists, Far Right politicians and libertarians are right when they say unregulated capitalism is the answer.

Possibly that free market approach will give everybody the opportunity to become super rich no matter where they live – in which case perhaps pure capitalism without any social reforms whatsoever isn’t thebullet to the head that we common people think it is…

In MISSION TO MOROCCO, Author J.R. Rogers has put a refreshing new spin on WW2 spy stories.

This authentic and atmospheric tale pits American intelligence agency cohort Lieutenant Sam Bradford against the might of an enemy intent on destroying American Navy blimps patroling the French Moroccan coast and theStraits of Gibraltar.

Lt. Bradford has a worthy adversary in one Colonel Ferdinand Hecht, the SS officer tasked with directing French spies recruited to report on the whereabouts of the navy blimps. Neither man is what he seems: Hecht is posing as a diplomat while Bradford adopts the guise of a war correspondent.

What follows is a fast-moving, gut-wrenching, nail-biting spy story rich in tension and intrigue, and even with a touch of romance. And all in an exotic setting.

If you thought WW2 spy stories have been done to death…think again! MISSION TO MOROCCO is a 5-star must-read.         -Review by Lance Morcan

**************************************************************

The winners of the "medium family class" of a "fitter families contest" pose at the 1927 Kansas Free Fair. The American Eugenics Society was founded as a direct result of the Second International Conference on Eugenics, held in New York in 1921.

Eugenics, or the science of improving a population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics, has been around since the mid-1800’s.

Social engineering some call it.

Genocide. Sterilization of the mentally ill, blacks, homosexuals and other undesirables. Euthenasia. Forced pregnancies and birth control. Racial segregation. Compulsory abortions. Genetic screening. These are examples of eugenics practices and policies adopted to varying degrees by various countries until commonsense prevailed and most countries banned such practices.

Although we don’t specifically tackle eugenics or racial issues in our thriller series The Orphan Trilogy, we use these early eugenics experiments as inspiration for the cold and ruthless way our fictional orphans are genetically engineered. Products of the Genius Sperm Bank, a real-world eugenics experiment, the orphans all have the genes of carefully selected white male donors.

Supervising the eerie experiment was Omega’s own Doctor Frankenstein – better known as Doctor Pedemont, the brilliant biomedical scientist responsible for the radical science behind it. Over the past few years, with the help of his team of geneticists, Doctor Pedemont had painstakingly selected the fetus’ genes from thousands of sperm donations combined with the genes of his female subjects. The donations had come from another medical experiment referred to as the Genius Sperm Bank. The Orphan Factory

In all three books in the trilogy, we also mention eugenics and cover very similar issues. Numerous book critics have referenced this wretched history of eugenics in their reviews for our series.

What’s scary is that some independent researchers believe eugenics is not just a thing of the past.

The motivation behind the Genius Sperm Bank, which had been initiated over a decade earlier, was to advance the breeding of super-intelligent people. The bank was stocked full of semen donations solicited from many of the world’s most intelligent men. The Orphan Factory

A short history of eugenics

Early eugenicists blamed genetics on polluting Mankind’s gene pool. They cited everything from alcoholism and prostitution to homosexuality and feeble-mindedness as examples of defective genes, and favored elimination ahead of treatment.

Eugenics’ original proponents were active throughout much of Europe, but it was in the US that eugenics really struck a chord – before the rise of Nazi Germany that is.

In the early days, the American eugenics movement received the financial backing of the likes of the Rockefeller Foundation and the Carnegie Institution as well as many high profile individuals such as Winston Churchill, H.G. Wells and Theodore Roosevelt. Eugenics was taught at many learning institutions and by the early 1900’s eugenic policies were introduced into legislation.

The Carnegie Institution in Washington D.C…prominent in America’s eugenics movement.

The Carnegie name crops up an awful lot in the shameful history of eugenics.

As Edwin Black states in his book War Against the Weak: Eugenics and America’s Campaign to Create a Master Race, in 1904, the Carnegie Institution established a laboratory complex on Long Island that stockpiled millions of index cards on ordinary Americans as researchers carefully plotted the removal of families, bloodlines and whole peoples.

And in 1911, a Carnegie-sponsored study explored solutions to ridding the population of people with defective genes. While euthanasia was shelved as one possible solution, marriage restrictions, racial segregation and forced abortions were deemed most acceptable.

Incidentally, euthanasia was only temporarily shelved as a possible solution. Proponents considered the timing wasn’t yet right to suggest so drastic a measure.“Fitter Families Contest” run by the American Eugenics Society in the 1920’s.

Compulsory sterilizations

Indiana passed the world’s first eugenics-motivated sterilization law in the early 20th Century. Thirty US states soon followed Indiana’s lead by making it legal to sterilize those deemed genetically inferior, especially psychiatric patients.

Those with certain types of mental illness weren’t the only ones sterilized en masse, however. Promiscuous women, prostitutes and females with perceived negative sexual orientations like bisexuality or lesbianism were often sterilized by authorities, while for men sterilizations were regularly done to curb excessive aggression in certain types of criminals.

View of a "Eugenic and Health Exhibit" with crowd, Kansas Free Fair, 1929. More an advocacy group than a scientific organization, the American Eugenics Society promoted general ideas to the public.

A pro eugenics exhibit draws a crowd at a Kansas fair in 1929.

Outside the US, various countries including Brazil, Belgium, Sweden and Canada implemented the policy of sterilizing citizens ruled not worthy of reproduction.

During the years that eugenics legislation was in effect in the US, around 65,000 American citizens were forcibly sterilized. Although compulsory sterilization has been considered a human rights violation in most parts of America since WW2, the laws were not overturned in many states until decades later. Virginia, for example, did not overturn its sterilization law until 1974.

Exhibits like this one, seen at an exposition in Philadelphia in 1926, were popular. Based in New Haven, Conn., the American Eugenics Society attracted the support of nearly every major American eugenicist.

An American Eugenics Society exhibit in Philadelphia in 1926.

Final Solution

To quote author Edwin Black again, he says eugenics was the racist pseudoscience determined to wipe away all human beings deemed ‘unfit,’ preserving only those who conformed to a Nordic stereotype. “Elements of the philosophy were enshrined as national policy by forced sterilization and segregation laws, as well as marriage restrictions, enacted in 27 states (of America)…The grand plan was to literally wipe away the reproductive capability of those deemed weak and inferior.”

Apparently, gas chambers were suggested, on the record, as the final solution for dealing with the unfit!

Do the words gas chambers and final solution sound familiar?

Links between American and Nazi eugenics

Although eugenics flourished in Nazi Germany, the ideal of a blond-haired, blue-eyed master race wasn’t Adolf Hitler’s. It may surprise many to know that, in Mein Kampf, Hitler credited America with helping formulate his ideas on eugenics, and he admitted he’d studied the laws of US states to familiarize himself with selective reproduction and other eugenics issues.

Our research indicates it’s no exaggeration to say American eugenics policies inspired eugenics programs in Nazi Germany.

If that’s not disturbing enough, during the early days of the Third Reich, American eugenicists publicly praised Hitler’s plans to introduce and enforce sterilization (of unsuitable people) and other such eugenics policies!

File:Ebensee concentration camp prisoners 1945.jpgHitler’s “Final Solution” eugenics policy part-funded by America!

Funding also flowed from the US to Nazi Germany for eugenics programs. For example, The Rockefeller Foundation financed numerous German eugenics experiments, including one that Josef Mengele worked on before he carried out his notorious human experimentations in Auschwitz.

The website for Crichton University provides a succinct summary of the history of eugenics in the US and the links between American eugenics and Nazi Germany. It points out that, “Eugenicists across America welcomed Hitler’s plans as the logical implementation of their own research” and “10 years after Virginia passed its 1924 Sterilization Act…the Superintendent of Virginia’s Western State Hospital complained…the Germans are beating us at our own game.”

America’s influence on the Nazi government was also confirmed by senior eugenics leader C. M. Goethe who, after visiting Germany in 1934, wrote the following to a fellow eugenicist: “You will be interested to know that your work has played a powerful part in shaping the opinions of the group of intellectuals who are behind Hitler in this epoch-making program. Everywhere I sensed that their opinions have been tremendously stimulated by American thought…I want you, my dear friend, to carry this thought with you for the rest of your life, that you have really jolted into action a great government of 60 million people.”

Crash Course in Jewish History Part 61: The Final Solution

Of course Hitler took eugenics to a whole new level in a way probably no American envisaged. He hijacked the term Final Solution and decided genocide was the best method of permanently eradicating his long list of ‘undesirables’ from the European gene pool.

It’s not known whether this America-Germany eugenics connection went full circle when Nazi scientists were brought into the US post-WW2 during the CIA’s Project Paperclip operation.

Benefiting from the efforts of some of Omega’s elite operatives, Doctor Pedemont had unlawfully obtained hundreds of samples from the Genius Sperm Bank. Then, taking the best ofthe sperm donations, he’d artificially inseminated the very women who were now in the process of giving birth. This meant each child that was about to be born effectively had one mother and numerous fathers. The Orphan Factory

Eugenics conspiracies

Since its beginnings, opponents of Eugenics have linked it to racial hatred. And rightly so, most would argue.

In America alone, eugenics often targeted minority ethnicities.

For example, Nobel-prize winning electronics pioneer, eugenics advocate and notorious racist, Dr. William Shockley (1910-1989), once proposed to pay black persons with IQ’s lower than 100 a cash incentive of $1000 to have themselves sterilized. There was no mention of sterilizing white persons with IQ’s lower than 100, of course.

However that is tame compared to the dark rumors swirling around modern eugenics. These rumors say the practice is not in decline but actually being used to eradicate genetic degenerates by the millions.

Such ideas stem from conspiracy theories floating around which suggest certain viruses – like SARS, Ebola and Swine Flu – were created by pharmaceutical technicians in labs.

Some conspiracy theorists even claim HIV/AIDS is a man-made disease rather than a freak of nature. These theories suggest HIV was originally eithera biological warfare virus that escaped from a laboratory by accident, or was released on purpose, as a tool for population control and eugenics implementation. The culprits are said to be shadowy, elitist organizations with New World Order ambitions.

Extreme accusations indeed, but perhaps not without some form of precedence.

From 1932 until 1972, the US Public Health Service deceptively conducted a clinical study known as the Tuskegee syphilis experiment. The notorious study was designed to monitor the progression of syphilis in African-American men who were led to believe they were receiving free treatment from the Government for the sexually transmitted disease. The infamous 40-year experiment involved medical professionals surreptitiously refusing treatment to black patients infected with syphilis.

Revelations by whistleblowers of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment led to US law changes concerning patient protection and informed consent for medical studies.

Several prominent African-American celebrities have made comments in public about the Tuskegee experiments, including comedian and film star Dave Chappelle whose grandfather was a Tuskegee survivor who was permanently blinded as a result of the experimentation. Shortly after the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans, leading film director Spike Lee mentioned the Tuskegee experiment on an episode of the TV series Real Time with Bill Maher. Lee alluded to a racial conspiracy in the Katrina aftermath by comparing the Government’s apparent lack of response to African-American communities with the ill treatment of patients in the syphilis experiment.

Various groups, including the Nation of Islam and the Black Panthers, believe the CIA purposefully infected African-Americans with HIV. Reminiscent of Tuskegee, this is said to have been carried out under the guise of hepatitis vaccinations. Those who subscribe to this theory have suggested HIV was spread by some pro-eugenics splinter group to decimate the black race, both in the US and in Africa.

The concept of AIDS being a sinister experiment seems to be reasonably accepted in the African-American community at least. In 2005, The Washington Post did a survey on the subject, questioning 500 African-Americans. The newspaper reported over 50% of those surveyed believed HIV was man-made and over 25% believed it was created in a US Government laboratory.

In Nigeria, there have been theories amongst locals that the World Health Organization (WHO) was spreading HIV via polio vaccines. As a result, there has been a decrease in the amount of Nigerians vaccinated against polio in recent years as many parents choose to keep their children away from WHO needles.

In 1986, American Physician Doctor Robert Strecker stated that HIV was not only a man-made bio-weapon created by the US military, but that it was disseminated by the WHO in Africa in the 1970’s by inserting the killer virus into smallpox vaccines. Strecker’s theory went on to suggest the distribution of HIV did not stop with Africa, but continued in the US. According to the doctor, the outbreak of AIDS in America was caused by government-sponsored hepatitis B vaccine experiments in San Francisco, New York City and Los Angeles in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. The vaccines were said to be contaminated with HIV and were apparently only given to gay men and African-American men.

                                                                                                                               Dr. Robert Strecker.

Although TIME magazine and most other mainstream media outlets condemned Strecker’s theory, it has since been supported by several prominent doctors and scientists. One of the supporters included Doctor Alan Cantwell who authored the 1988 book AIDS and the Doctors of Death: An Inquiry into the Origin of the AIDS Epidemic.

South Africa’s former president, Thabo Mbeki, has claimed HIV/AIDS is a grand conspiracy involving the CIA and Big Pharma.

But probably the most famous supporter of the theory that AIDS is some kind of Unit 731-style biological weapon is the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and environmental and political activist Wangari Maathai (1940-2011).

The Kenyan was quoted by Nairobi-based newspaper The Standard in 2004 as saying AIDS was “deliberately created by Western scientists to decimate the African population”. This lead to a flurry of world headlines including this one by Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty on December 10, 2004, ‘Africa’s First Female Nobel Peace Laureate Accepts Award Amid Controversy Over AIDS Remarks’ and this one on the same day in The New York Times, ‘Nobel Laureate Seeks to Explain AIDS Remarks’.

Maathai was also reported in a December, 2004 edition of TIME magazine as saying, “I do know things like that don’t come from the moon. I have always thought that it is important to tell people the truth, but I guess there is some truth that must not be too exposed … I’m referring to AIDS. I am sure people know where it came from. And I’m quite sure it did not come from the monkeys”.

As UNICEF has called AIDS “the worst catastrophe ever to hit the world” the idea that certain governments or agencies created the virus to attack minority groups is hard to even consider, let alone believe. Personally, we feel this theory is veering into the sort of crackpot conspiracy ideas promoted by the Tinfoil Hat Network. Then again, as Spike Lee was alluding to in his TV interview, history is riddled with malicious, eugenics-style medical experiments like Tuskegee, so you never know.

Here’s hoping this HIV/AIDS conspiracy theory ain’t true!

North Korean eugenics

As far as governments go in the modern world, North Korea is known to practice eugenics. The neo-Stalanist regime is committed to protecting racial purity and sees eugenics as the way to breed a stronger population and eradicate degenerates who carry supposedlyweak genes.

An October 21, 2006 article in UK newspaper The Telegraph reported the UN had uncovered “subhuman gulags” in North Korea where the disabled and mentally ill were locked up.

The rogue state operates a “rigorous system of eugenics” according to the article, for those “deemed subnormal, ranging from the disabled to dwarves.”

The Telegraph also reported the gulags were designed so that “those who do not conform to the state’s designation of normal do not pass on their genes by having children.”

Satellite images show gulags still operational in North Korea

An April 2014 satellite image of a gulag in North Korea.

Apparently, in North Korea those deemed abnormal are locked up for life. Marriages are allowed at segregation camps, but reproducing is not. There have also been reports of turning these ‘abnormals’ into laboratory guinea pigs for testing chemicals and germ agents.

#

In the Western World, the disturbing trend toward designer babies, the unofficial use of euthanasia by some medical professionals and the treatment of elderly people in some rest homes are just a few examples of present-day eugenics in operation – albeit tame examples compared to the genocide and forced relocation of many thousands of people occurring in some Third World countries.

American Christopher Langan, who claims to have an IQ between 195 and 210 and is also known as the world’s smartest man, has often been reported as being a eugenics supporter. The RationalWiki website describes a YouTube video in which “Langan talks about how he wishes he could implement a benign form of eugenics involving mandatory birth control and health screenings, and how breeding as much as we like isn’t necessarily a free right, and that people have to be trained to not abuse their freedoms, especially at the expense of future generations.”

Hopefully the 1997 sci-fi film Gattaca does not prove to be an accurate prophecy for eugenics implementations to come. Written and directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, the film presents a future society where nearly all children are conceived by genetic engineering technologies to ensure they do not inherit bad genes from their parents. Any persons born outside this society’s eugenics program are labeled faith births, degenerates or invalids, and are heavily discriminated against.

Primary image for Gattaca

And then there’s the whole issue of human cloning. We considered that too out there, and too far beyond our level of knowledge or understanding, to include in this book. However, we must at least acknowledge human cloning as it is a major theme of The Orphan Trilogy – in particular book three in the series which reveals the powerful Omega Agency’s cloning plans have come to fruition, allowing the organization to conduct medical experimentation on live humans.

Given the well-documented history of eugenics, and the persistence of its known adherents into the 21st Century, it is possible the controversial science continues underground. The secret use of eugenics could include classified experiments similar to the programs described and shown in The Orphan Trilogy and Gattaca where humans are genetically engineered for perfection.

Then again, maybe (hopefully) we’ve been writing conspiracy thriller novels so long our fears regarding eugenics are closer to the fiction we write than reality! If our concerns have no basis then it’s quite possible our critics are right and we really do see conspiracies everywhere in the real world.

Obama

The President of the United States is regularly referred to as the most powerful person on Earth. This holds true for the current president, Barack Obama, as it has for all other American presidents in recent decades.

Certainly, the US is the world’s biggest economy and has the largest military force. It’s arguably the last legitimate superpower left – not forgetting that China has all the hallmarks of a future superpower – and the US President, as commander-in-chief of America’s armed forces, is in charge of the world’s biggest nuclear arsenal as well.

So, surely if anybody would qualify as the most powerful person on the planet, then it would be the President.

Right?

Um…well…maybe wrong, actually.

What the hell are you guys talking about? we hear you ask. Obviously the President is the most powerful person in the world! For pete’s sake, you guys better retire now if you can’t see that!

We hear you, we hear you. But just hold on a moment.

Appearances would certainly suggest he’s the most powerful person – especially when America’s dominant military, political and economic position is taken into account. But appearances can be deceiving.

It’s important to remember the US President isn’t only accountable to himself: he is, first and foremost, accountable to others – and we’re not just referring to the American people.

Many a political conspiracy theory has at its cornerstone the idea that whoever the US President is at any given time is merely a pawn. An employee, if you will, representing the real power players who lurk in the shadows but rule with absolute authority.

This theory requires us to believe the President has secret allegiances with invisible people – invisible to anyone below the Presidency that is – who micromanage him.

If true, the President’s decision-making power would be farcical; he’d simply be the person who presses the button – not the one making the decision to drop the bomb or send in the drones or bring home the troops.

Too big a stretch, you say?

Maybe, but stick with us…

Contrary to the media circus which portrayed politicians as all-powerful figures, Kentbridge knew from experience the vast majority of US Government officials elected or otherwise were puppets who only had the illusion of power. This included Presidents. These public figures all understood the game and were happy to go through the motions, carrying out orders that came from above from the likes of the Omega Agency so they could fulfill their own egotistical ambitions. The Ninth Orphan

Consider the “vast right-wing conspiracy” First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton mentioned in 1998 in relation to the sex scandal involving her husband President Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Mrs Clinton’s choice of words seem odd if you stop to consider she was talking about the world’s supposedly most powerful man at that time.

TIME Magazine Cover: Monica Lewinsky & Bill Clinton -- Feb. 2, 1998

Surely such a man would be immune to attacks from minnows of the right wing Republican opposition. Or did Mrs Clinton’s seemingly innocent comment allude to something, or someone, other than Republicans? Could she have been referring to shadowy figures in some invisible government who wanted to bring her husband down, or at least curtail some of his wayward policies?

Could her use of the word conspiracy in her statement have been a cryptic clue?

Bozos in the White House

George W. Bush is probably the US President whose intelligence has been most questioned. Certainly he’s up there with Presidents Ford and Reagan. His frequent gaffes, or Bushisms, and his apparent inability at times to clearly answer even the simplest of questions raised alarm bells in the minds of many Americans.

George W’s Bushisms include publicly congratulating ostracized FEMA director Michael Brown for his handling of the Hurricane Katrina emergency in 2005 despite the fact that Brown had received extreme nationwide criticism over his handling of the disaster; a year earlier, while talking about the War on Terror, Bush said America’s enemies “never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.” And in a speech in 2002, he famously remarked, “There’s an old saying in Tennessee…I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee…that says, fool me once, shame on…shame on you…Fool me…you can’t get fooled again!”

In case you’re interested, there are hundreds of Bushism compilation videos, or Greatest Hits, that can be viewed on YouTube.

Rightly or wrongly, the moniker Dubbya forever became synonymous with stupidity and ignorance.

Was this man really bright enough to run the United States of America? Was he capable of making the myriad of complex decisions required of presidents every day?

It was true Isabelle was the daughter of a politician and therefore must have had an inkling of how Western alpha male-style governments functioned, but the world he operated in was beyond governments. Nine was one of the few who knew the truth. He understood world leaders were simply opportunists placed in so-called positions of power to carry out the agendas of the real power-players who always remained behind the scenes. The Ninth Orphan

During Ronald Reagan’s presidency it was rumored he slept more than he worked, especially during his second term. As a former actor, perhaps Reagan understood better than most his White House role was less about making decisions and more about delivering lines and following scripts the powers-that-be wrote.

If even half the tales surrounding lazy or inept presidents are true then that may provide some insight into whether the US President is the most powerful person on Earth or, indeed, if he has any real power at all.

TV frontman John Stewart’s expression leaves little doubt what he thinks of the last eight presidents.

It has always intrigued us that no President ever asked Congress – on the record at least – to establish exactly who manages America’s money supply? And why are the suspicious activities rumored to be swirling around the Federal Reserve never – officially at least – investigated? Could it be that Presidents promise to support global banksters before running for office?

When there is such a long and detailed history of false flag operations, why has no recent President seriously questioned the validity of intelligence reports claiming the existence of WMD’s or the incidence of terrorist attacks in certain countries? Could it be these Presidents are also in the pocket of the Military Industrial Complex, that powerful combination of America’s armed forces, legislators, political factions, defence contractors and money men?

military-industrial-complex.jpgThe farewell speech of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the US and the only Army General ever to be elected President, is perhaps telling in this regard.

In his speech, which was delivered in a television broadcast on January 17, 1961, Eisenhower warned America against the ever-increasing political influence of the Military Industrial Complex.

“We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex,” said Eisenhower. “The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes.”

President Eisenhower also pointed out that the nation annually spent on “military security alone more than the net income of all United States corporations” – a fact which possibly holds true to this day, depending on definitions of where military security starts and ends.

Eisenhower’s speech could be construed as suggesting his Presidential powers were diluted because of the influence of the Military Industrial Complex and/or other such entities. His warning that Americans must guard against the complex’s “acquisition of unwarranted influence” certainly suggests that.

Kentbridge was certain all of the US presidents since JFK had been puppets. The lack of any real decision-making power presidents had was reflected in a long-running joke within the agency: One could place a monkey in the White House Oval Office and everything would run just fine. The Orphan Factory

The Invisible Government

Government, as we all know, is the system by which people, states or countries are governed.

Here’s an alternative definition that’s popular with conspiracy theorists: Government is a system certain nefarious people and organizations can hide behind and achieve even more than they could if legitimately elected to office. These immoral parties include unelected officials and secret societies who are collectively known in some circles as the Invisible Government.

Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. - Theodore Roosevelt

It’s quite possible there’s an Invisible Government operating in America today with some unknown entity pulling the strings of elected politicians and officials – in which case the Government that’s portrayed in the media is just a front for some shadowy group.

If it’s conceivable the Invisible Government is controlling, or at least has influence over, the banking system, the media and radical science, then why couldn’t it have influence over the President, too?

There are also theories that there are 40 levels in US intelligence above top secret, of which the President only has clearance to about Level 20. No such theories have ever been proven, however.

We realize there are a lot of what ifs in our analysis, but it’s important to remember we are dealing with 50 shades of subtlety when it comes to trying to ascertain how the world really operates. Those shadowy groups, secret societies and faceless people pulling strings in the financial, military, scientific, medical, industrial and political sectors don’t take out front page newspaper ads to advertise their agendas or their modus operandi.

So it’s up to us, average Jo Citizen, to read between the lines, think outside the square and question everything we’re told.

If you think we’re scaremongering, cast your eye over the quotations scattered throughout this chapter and, indeed, throughout this book – from JFK in particular – warning of secret societies and the like.

“There exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.” –Daniel K. Inouye, US Senator from Hawaii. Testimony given to the Senate Select Committee on Secret Military Assistance to Iran and the Nicaraguan Opposition (Iran-Contra hearings) in 1987.

The usual (and unusual) suspects

If it’s not the President and the official Government then who is really running the United States of America?

As the old saying goes, follow the money trail. That would surely make our aforementioned friends, the good ol’ global banksters, prime suspects.

banksters 5

At the very least, bankers and financial services suppliers would have to be part of the Invisible Government, if indeed it does exist. They could be compared to the outer layer of an onion: peel back a layer or two and you’d likely find covert organizations running the banks.

And if that theory holds true, secret societies like the Freemasons and Skull and Bones would probably be to the fore.

Other major players in an Invisible Government could comprise the global elite groups mentioned in previous chapters, including the Bilderberg Group and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Now let’s introduce another little known group into the equation…

The Bohemian Club

Bohemian Groveis a 2700-acre campground in Monte Rio, California, owned by an obscure Californian men’s art club called the Bohemian Club, which can trace its foundation back to 1872.

According to Wikipedia, “In mid-July each year, Bohemian Grove hosts a two-week, three-weekend encampment of some of the most powerful men in the world.”

Past and present members of this bizarre, invitation-only club, where grown men act like boys in the woods and conduct pagan rituals, include Richard Nixon, George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and apparently every other Republican President since Calvin Coolidge. Other Bohemian members include or included Jack London, Henry Kissinger, Walter Cronkite, David Rockefeller Sr., Donald Rumsfeld and Henry Ford.

Observers say the Bohemian Club is like the Bilderberg Group and the CFR in that it undermines democracy by holding closed meetings.

In a Los Angeles Times article dated May 26, 1987, it was reported that Richard Nixon once sent his fellow Bohemian Grove members a statement saying, “Anyone can aspire to be President of the United States, but few have any hope of becoming president of the Bohemian Club”.

Nixon’s also on record as commenting several times that attending Bohemian Grove was crucial to becoming the US President. For example, in his 1978 book, Memoirs, he says, “in many important ways it marked the first milestone on my road to the presidency”.

Bohemian Grove Members

The Bohemian Club…where grown men act like boys.

If elitist groups like Bohemian Club, the CFR and the Bilderberg Group select and groom candidates to become Presidents of the US then isn’t it safe to assume they also dictate certain policies once their alumni are in the White House?

“The very word “secrecy” is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings.” –President John F. Kennedy, speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. April 27, 1961, New York City.

Secret affiliations of US Presidents

From our research into the history of American politics, one detail kept rising to the surface time and again: All recent US Presidents pledged allegiance to at least one secret society or elitist organization before they ran for office.

Freemasonry and Skull and Bones are two of the most common secret societies, while the Bilderberg Group, the Trilateral Commission, the Bohemian Club and the CFR seem to be the main elitist organizations on any serious presidential candidate’s to-do list.

What follows are the secret affiliations of the previous eight Presidents before Obama. This list dates back over half a century to the 1963 assassination of JFK, but excludes President Kennedy himself who appeared to belong to no such societies, organizations or fraternities.

George W. Bush (Bohemian Club, Skull and Bones),Bill Clinton (Mason, Skull and Bones, Bilderberg, CFR, Trilateral Commission), George H. W. Bush (Mason, Skull and Bones, Bohemian Club, Trilateral Commission, CFR, Skull and Bones),Ronald Reagan (Bohemian Club, Mason), Jimmy Carter (Trilateral Commission, CFR), Gerald Ford (Mason, Bilderberg, Bohemian Club, CFR), Richard Nixon (Bohemian Club, CFR), Lyndon B. Johnson (Mason, CFR).

What this amounts to is that recent US Presidents have all been owned in one way or another before they even set foot in the White House Oval Office to serve their terms.

The one potential omission in this disturbing trend is Barry Soetoro – more commonly known as Barack Obama. We refer of course to the name Obama sometimes used in Indonesia where he spent part of his childhood. Soetoro was his stepfather’s surname and Barry was the nickname he used throughout college.

However, to get back to the point, it may well be President Obama is ultra-secretive about his membership of elitist organizations and secret societies.

Sourcing accurate information on Obama’s background is tricky. There’s a huge amount of so-called evidence online, painting Obama as a fraud. But if you take the time to research the individuals making such claims you will quickly establish they are often racially motivated.

Given that racism still exists in the 21st Century, the amount of fabricated evidence on America’s first black President is hardly surprising. Even so, there have been intriguing reports that point to the possibility of Obama being a member of various elitist, non-governmental groups.

For example, on March 5, 2007, conspiracy website Above Top Secret included statements from an anonymous Freemason who claimed to have befriended Obama years earlier at a Masonic lodge in Illinois. However, the lodge in question could find no record of Obama ever having attended.

Shortly before Obama was elected to the presidency, the June 2, 2008 issue of Newsweek included a photograph with an article that appeared to show a Masonic ring on the future president’s finger. The image sent the Tinfoil Hat Network into a frenzy. However, there’s no conclusive proof that the finger is Obama’s.

The Masonic ring allegedly on the finger of Obama.

And as mentioned in Chapter 3, there have been persistent rumors the Hawaii-born Obama has also attended at least one Bilderberg meeting – namely the conference at Chantilly, Virginia, in 2008, which also took place shortly before he became the US President.

So it remains inconclusive as to whether Obama is a tool or not. Either he’s squeaky clean as his administration presents him to be, or he has covered his tracks so well that his membership of secret or elitist organizations cannot be proven conclusively.

Given the consistently nefarious behavior of the world’s elite, we certainly know which way we’d be placing our bets regarding Obama. We just cannot believe that any average, honest, law-abiding American citizen can get anywhere near the presidency without shaking hands with corrupt powerbrokers, signing deals with banksters and generally bending over backwards for the global elite.

Certainly there were obvious differences in policies between the various leaders, and an America run by a Bush, an Obama or a Clinton would have distinct contrasts. Those variables didn’t concern the secret elite rulers, however. As long as the Omega Agency and other clandestine groups ensured each administration sold out on the most lucrative issues – oil, banking, drug trafficking, arms sales – they couldn’t care less whether a political party poured a few more measly bucks into healthcare or schools. The Ninth Orphan

A DIY guide to buying American Presidents

For the sake of exploring this theory of owning Presidents and Administrations, let’s create our own secret society right here and now, and let’s call this covert, invitation-only organization Pegasus.

Pegasus members are a group of elite families whose combined wealth is worth trillions of dollars. Yet they feature on no rich lists for their wealth is created and expanded by high finance deals that are beyond governments and tax systems, and involve clandestine transfers in the murky world of offshore banking.

This consortium’s members, who now make up the Invisible Government, have infiltrated every aspect of the current Administration by conducting a silent coup d’etat that went unreported.

Pegasus can afford to buy candidates upfront before they run for office. They also gain coercive influence over the key figures in all the major parties.

Pegasus can’t lose if they back all the major political parties. Although it seems the Left side of the political spectrum is the antithesis of the Right, they understand there really is no Left or Right, or even any political parties. There is only Pegasus.

So while it appears as if voters have a choice, the reality is they don’t – at least not a choice that matters a whole lot.

Although political parties often seemed poles apart, in reality they all bowed to this higher order of power. Kentbridge had long since understood Democrats and Republicans were essentially the same party with different faces and that was why, no matter how many promises each leader made, significant change rarely transpired. The Ninth Orphan

The political apathy of today’s youth

Young people today seem to be coming round to the idea it really doesn’t matter which politician or political party you vote for; and they’re catching on that it doesn’t even matter if you don’t vote because they have realized modern elections are just a way for the 1% to appease the 99% – a way to keep the masses in line by making them believe they’ve had their say, thereby perpetuating the lie that democracy continues.

More and more young people have twigged that modern politics is all a big game. Perhaps this is because they’re more likely to source their information from the Internet, social media, alternative media and citizen journalists. They sense that leaders in power – be they presidents or prime ministers – are simply caretakers who serve a term or two before the next caretaker steps in to carry on with the charade.

The question is, are today’s youth enlightened people or cynics who don’t respect the democracy their forefathers fought for?

Perhaps authors Dan Cassino and Yasemin Besen-Cassino answer that question in a roundabout way in their 2009 book Consuming Politics: Jon Stewart, Branding, and the Youth Vote in America. They say, “The political apathy of today’s youth can be seen largely as a result of this disengagement from the parties”.

The Cassino’s continue, “Different groups within the general category of young people are looking for different things within the political world, and won’t become engaged in politics until they see those things”.

Politicians would be well advised not to hold their breath for youth to engage in politics any time soon. Today’s youth are the first generation to have realized for real change to occur, it must happen on an individual level rather than at an administrative level.

As Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo told Luke Rudkowski, a young American social activist and founder of grassroots media organization We Are Change, in a 2011 interview, “It’s not going to happen from above. We are the change that we’re waiting for”.

Mark Ruffalo's primary photo

Actor Mark Ruffalo

Ruffalo continued, “Anything worth a damn that’s ever happened on behalf of the people has always come up from the people and forced itself onto the power above. And that’s the way it always is and that’s the way it’s always going to be”.

Hear, hear, Mr. Ruffalo.

“Let’s pick up from yesterday’s teachings on the Gulf War,” Kentbridge began. He wrote Iraq 1990-1991 on a blackboard. “Now that the West has control of Iraq’s massive oil reserves, President Bush will be replaced.” The chalk squeaked as he wrote Bill Clinton on the board. “Bill Clinton will be our country’s next President. The election later this year is just a formality. The result has already been decided.”The Orphan Factory

Since winning the US Presidency, Barack Obama has been criticized for breaking almost every promise he made to the American people before running for office. And although he promised the opposite, his policies turned out to be almost a carbon copy of those of his predecessor George W. Bush – at least in terms of the big issues such as fighting unnecessary wars and protecting banksters ahead of everyday citizens.

Obama’s supporters insist his intentions were honest. Maybe they were and maybe he really believed he’d be the boss instead being a small cog in a giant wheel.

Then again before being elected Obama had little track record in Congress of voting against the major issues like Big Pharma or banking chicanery. As political activist Ralph Nader pointed out when he ran against him in the 2008 Presidential campaign, the man formerly known as Barry Soetoro was hardly a revolutionary.

So maybe Obama knew all along he’d just be another puppet for the Establishment and was happy to play along.

Or maybe the likes of JFK was speaking through a hole in his head when he warned Americans about “secret societies, secret oaths and secret proceedings,” and maybe the likes of Eisenhower was speaking through a hole in his when he warned of “the potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power.”

It’s likely none of us will ever know for sure.

******************************************************

There’s no escaping the media. Whether radio, television, newspapers, magazines, billboards, feature films, documentaries, online news or social media – it’s everywhere.

If media in all its forms is compromised then frankly, we’re all screwed!

One of us (Lance) writes from personal experience on this subject: as a former journalist, newspaper editor and public relations consultant with experience in television, radio, print and online reporting, he has observed the workings of the media from the inside over the past 45 years.

You don’t need to be a former journalist however, to realize that manipulating the media is akin to poisoning a nation’s water supply – it affects all of our lives in unimaginable ways.

Journalists are the barometer of a nation’s freedom of speech. If they are threatened, gagged or otherwise silenced then who is going to ask the tough questions and keep the authorities honest?

“No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed. I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers–I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: “An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it.” We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them.” –President John F. Kennedy, speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. April 27, 1961, New York City.

JFK Addresses the Nation on Civil Rights

President Kennedy welcomed media scrutiny of his Administration.

In our thriller The Orphan Factory, the novel’s lead female character Helen Katsarakis is a student journalist in Chicago. When she learns the shocking truth of the Pedemont Orphanage and starts to write about it, her life is suddenly endangered. Without giving away any spoilers, let’s just say the powers that be swing into action to prevent her story ever reaching the masses.

Helen’s character was partly a plot device designed to ask tough questions about the modern media. In particular, questioning the commonly held belief that here in the West we have a free press.

So, what’s the truth? Do we really have a free press or are our journalists, or journos, being dictated to and told what they can and can’t report on? Are certain topics suppressed from the public’s consciousness by those who own or greatly influence the media? Are there any free-thinking, free-speaking journos left – alive and not retired that is?

What made it worse was Helen wasn’t just any old journalist. She was a student reporter unconnected to any of the mainstream media outlets – outlets Omega could usually control as a result of the moles the agency had planted in their midst. No, Helen and her university newspaper could not be bought or controlled. She was a free agent, able to investigate whatever took her fancy, and The Daily Illini newspaper was free to publish whatever it wanted to. The Orphan Factory

Taking on the Establishment

Few journos ever seriously challenge the Establishment. Why? Because it’s usually not in the best interests of their employers – the select few media barons who run mainstream media these days. (More about them later).

The upshot of this is, while their turn of phrase may be eloquent, most journos just report on issues their masters are happy to allow to be aired publicly. This makes them little more than parrots for the Establishment. Unfortunately, few realize that.

The tragedy of this is major issues remain hidden and the public are continually being denied access to the truth.

Any journo who takes on the Establishment and interrogates officialdom about questionable policies – such as committing troops to new theaters of war – is quickly brought to heel. If the journo persists, he or she risks being branded a traitor, or unpatriotic at least.

In June 2013, former Minnesota Governor, Navy Seal and professional wrestler-turned political activist Jesse Ventura told The New York Times, “You’re not unpatriotic for criticizing your government.” Elaborating, Ventura said, “I know from experience, the only way you get good government is for the citizens to hold its feet to the fire.”

Of course, holding an administration’s feet to the fire relies on total freedom of speech, and a truly free media is a major part of that.

We know from personal experience it takes balls to ask the hard questions. Questions such as why Western nations are embroiled in perpetual wars and spending gazillions on military budgets when so many of their citizens are living hand to mouth on or below the poverty line.

What’s needed is uncompromising, in-depth, insightful reporting where journos don’t shy away from applying the metaphorical blowtorch to world leaders, politicians and business moguls. This would be in stark contrast to the staged interviews we are more commonly shown where handpicked journos rarely deviate from script.

True journalism is about uncovering and reporting on the truth. Nothing more, nothing less. In today’s fast-moving world, where corruption, violence and grief are never far away, it’s difficult to think of a more important job.

News reporting or storytelling?

Traditional journalism, where reporters deliver information in a balanced and unbiased fashion, is rapidly fading into obscurity. This is especially evident on television where high profile reporters become bigger than the story, delivering news with large dollops of personality and wit – almost as if they are actors. And is it our imagination or are TV reporters becoming younger and more glamorous every year?

To our eyes, on major world issues at least, it seems very little factual-based news reporting occurs these days. Instead, it’s nearly all opinion-based and colored to some degree.

Unfortunately, mainstream news has become infotainment, sharing more in common with the entertainment industry than with traditional journalism. Gossip, characterizations and injections of drama are subtly infused with facts, altering the truth in a similar way to how dramatists twist true stories to create greater excitement.

Another useful analogy here may be documentary movies. Although as filmmakers we only produce feature films, we know a lot of doco filmmakers and many tell us storytelling is just as prominent in reality-based productions as it is in dramatic ones. This makes sense because when a doco enters post-production after the filming period, the director has hundreds of hours of footage to sift through in the editing suite. The film then has to be edited down to around 90 minutes and there are often any number of stories a director can tell, depending on what is edited out, what is left in and what is highlighted.

In theory, documentary filmmakers are able to remain totally unbiased and allow the material to dictate the most relevant story to them. But only the very best are able to achieve this. All too often the filmmakers’ own beliefs end up convincing them to tell stories that don’t actually reflect the heart of the material.

Similarly, subjective storytelling is now almost as common in the news media as it is in feature films, TV dramas, novels or theater shows. Journalists at their worst are self-centered storytellers who either knowingly or unknowingly bend truths into stories that match their personal beliefs or those of their employers.

What is scarier however, is when entire media organizations craft fictional stories out of the truth to influence the masses on a grand scale.

The kingmakers

Media tycoons are among the most powerful and influential individuals on the planet as they and their minions shape society’s opinions. It’s no coincidence that a large percentage of the members of the Bilderberg Group, the Council on Foreign Relations and other such elitist organizations are media moguls. If it’s true that nothing is more potent than an idea, then those who control the media can direct minds en masse.

Australian-born tycoon Rupert Murdoch has built a media empire unlike any other in history. His far-reaching enterprises incorporate major newspapers, television networks, book publishers and film production companies throughout the UK, the US, Australia and Asia. It’s estimated that 40% of American television viewers are watching Murdoch-owned stations at any given time.

It has been reported in the mainstream media on several occasions that no Prime Minister of the UK or Australia takes office without consulting Murdoch first. Then again, if he controls the media wouldn’t Murdoch have censored such reports? In which case wouldn’t that make a mockery of this whole conspiracy theory? Ah well, you can’t win ‘em all!

There are parallels, albeit on a smaller scale, in Italy where former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi owns much of the Italian media. During his controversial term as PM, critics argued many of Berlusconi’s newspapers and TV channels promoted his far-right political ideologies.

Bottom line is: the media, like anything else, can be bought. Everything, it seems, has its price. Even the free press.

The trend toward media consolidation

Some commentators say the world’s six biggest media empires, between them, largely control what news we see, hear or read in the Western world. Others say the 10 biggest media empires control our news. Either way, the ramifications are frightening, wouldn’t you agree?

The respected news and entertainment site Elite Daily, which calls itself “The voice of Generation-Y”, makes the following claim: “With media oversight being taken for granted in recent years, media concentration has been a trend that’s been rolling along with few signs of stopping. As a result, many of your favorite media entities have been consolidated and all work under the same umbrella corporation. If you think, for example, one channel offers better content than the other, you might be surprised to learn that you’ve stuck with the same company and are just now loyal to another one of its assets.”

media-ownership

Elite Daily has identified the following as the world’s 10 largest media conglomerates: Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, Gannett Company Inc., CBS Corporation, British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc., Liberty Media, News Corporation, Viacom, Time Warner Inc., The Walt Disney Disney Company and Comcast Corporation.

In the early 1980’s, some 50 companies owned 90% of American media. Now, 90% of US media is owned by just six corporations: Disney, Viacom, GE, CBS, Time Warner and Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp.

Each of these conglomerates has fingers in many pies. Take Time Warner for example. It has major stakes in film and TV companies like New Line Cinema, CNN, TNT, Warner Bros. Pictures, HBO, Cinemax, Cartoon Network and Castle Rock plus magazines like People, Time, Sports Illustrated, Fortune and Marie Claire.

The problem with such media monopolies, especially when they are heavily entangled with politics as Murdoch’s outlets are, is that censorship or even disseminating misinformation becomes a very real possibility.

If you believe the TV networks, newspapers and other media outlets owned by such conglomerates are regularly delivering balanced, unbiased news, you’re dreaming. Each has its own agenda and recent history has shown those agendas aren’t always honorable. Regrettably, and all too often, journalistic ethics come a distant second to corporate profits.

You only need to consider the events surrounding Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World phone-hacking scandal to be reminded that media conglomerates and their owners don’t always act honorably or have the public’s best interests at heart.

For anyone who has been living under a rock since that controversy broke, Murdoch employees working in some of his British newspapers hacked the phones of leading politicians, businessmen and celebrities, resulting in a public outcry against News Corporation and Murdoch.

“There is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.” –President John F. Kennedy, speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. April 27, 1961, New York City.

Censoring the truth

Censorship involves limiting free expression and controlling information. Most Westerners tend to associate the word censorship with art – especially film. However, in less democratic regions of the world, censorship is all pervasive with North Korea being one of the best, or worst, examples of this in recent years.

aaaa

Censorship is also alive and well in the West, although it is done in far more subtle ways. Sometimes it relates to that modern day ailment known as corportocracy, or the control of economic and political systems by corporate interests; sometimes it relates to government meddling where administrations or individual politicians derail what should be a free press.

Reporters Without Borders, a global freedom of press organization, recently announcedin its annual Worldwide Freedom Index that the US has one of the highest levels of media censorship in the Western world. From their research, conducted in 2013, they reported that journalists in the UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand experience greater freedoms of speech than in the US.

The index reflects the level of freedom that news organizations, reporters and citizens enjoy in each country, and the efforts made by governing bodies to respect this freedom.

Given the US was founded on the greatest constitutional freedom of expression in history (the First Amendment) it’s sad to see it only managed 32nd place on the Worldwide Freedom Index – behind the likes of Ghana and Suriname.

“Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed–and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And that is why our press was protected by the First Amendment – the only business in America specifically protected by the Constitution – not primarily to amuse and entertain, not to emphasize the trivial and the sentimental, not to simply “give the public what it wants” – but to inform, to arouse, to reflect, to state our dangers and our opportunities, to indicate our crises and our choices, to lead, mold, educate and sometimes even anger public opinion.” –President John F. Kennedy, speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. April 27, 1961, New York City.

Spin doctors

A conservatively estimated 90% of all news items aired in the media – whether in print, radio or television – on any given day are placed items. (Placed news items are articles contributed by individuals, companies and organizations outside the media). An estimated 75% of all news items are placed by spin doctors, or public relations consultants.

Journos and PR gurus will know what we’re talking about, but for outsiders we accept these stats are hard to get your head around.

Incidentally, many if not most spin doctors are former journos, so they know firsthand how the media works and they have well established journalistic networks to tap into. Very handy when it comes to placing stories.

What makes it difficult to accurately assess the amount of news that is placed or contributed, is that many such items appear under a journo’s byline. All too often the journo may only change one para, sentence or word – or nothing at all – before recycling the story for publication under his or her name. Sad but true.

In the case of news items sourced from PR firms, the reality is those firms are handsomely paid by their (usually) corporate clients to publicize the clients’ products and services. In some cases their non-corporate clients may be lobby groups, politicians, political parties, government departments, armed forces or other such entities each with their own barrow to push. All too often, the truth is secondary to the message. Also sad but true.

Mainstream media all too often serves as a public relations agency for the global elite, including politicians, bankers and Fortune 500 members. As a result, the so-called news has become a junkyard for propaganda. Such an environment is open slather for the spin doctors.

“News is what somebody somewhere wants to suppress; all the rest is advertising.” Lord Northcliffe, British publisher (1865-1922)

Media manipulation

All too often news stories deliver one viewpoint, or one dominant viewpoint, so the audience will likely draw one particular conclusion. This can be done so cleverly we are usually none the wiser – unless we’re on the lookout for such subterfuge.

Politicians and political parties are very aware of this, as are our military leaders. Media manipulation they call it – off the record of course. To sell their message to the public, they need to use the media to their advantage. Sometimes they go direct, oftentimes they use the spin doctors.

A classic example of this was how the US Administration used the media to convince the American public Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction before the troops were sent in. How wrong they were, but how effective their advance publicity was. It was swallowed hook, line and sinker by most Americans and, indeed, by much of the Western world. Certainly, Britain and others weren’t slow to send their troops in to Iraq either. And it’s worth noting this was initially a conspiracy theory, but now even mainstream media outlets commonly accept this was fabrication or at least exaggerated spin to start a war.

Clearly, the media can be used by political administrations as a propaganda tool.

The 1922 speech of former New York City Mayor John Hylan we quoted from in an earlier chapter is worth quoting from again: “These international bankers and Rockefeller-Standard Oil interests control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government.”

Operation Mockingbird

From the 1950’s to 1970’s, the CIA covertly funded a number of leading domestic and foreign journalists from numerous major media outlets like The Washington Post, Time, The New York Times and CBS to publish CIA propaganda. This was known as Operation Mockingbird and was first brought to the public’s attention in 1975 by The Church Committee.

Senator Frank Church, after whom the committee was named, claimed that misinforming the world cost American taxpayers around US$265 million a year. Some of that cost was wages as many of the CIA’s journalist-spooks drew a CIA salary over and above their official media salary. Talk about serving two masters!

After the initial revelations, Congress admitted in 1976 that the CIA maintained a network of several hundred foreigners “who provide intelligence for the CIA and at times attempt to influence opinion through the use of covert propaganda.”

The CIA also admitted that these individuals provided the agency with direct access to many media outlets.

Although restraints have since been applied to the CIA’s media-related activities, to this daythe agency makes no secret it continues to welcome the voluntary cooperation of reporters.

cia controls media

The CIA’s involvement with media doesn’t end there. In 1977, Washington Post journo Carl Bernstein, of Watergate fame, reported that “more than 400 journalists…in the past 25 years have secretly carried out assignments” for the CIA.

Intelligence agencies’ approach to manipulating news media is probably best summed up by a comment a senior CIA employee made to Bernstein: “One journalist is worth twenty agents.”

Besides messing with news media outlets, the agency has also been known to dabble in other forms of media. For example, the 1954 animated film Animal Farm, based on George Orwell’s classic novel, was secretly funded by the CIA. In fact, three-fifths of the movie’s half a million dollar budget was financed by the agency via one of its shell corporations, Touchstone Inc.

On the film’s listing on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) site, the following is mentioned under the trivia section:“The CIA obtained the film rights to “Animal Farm” from Orwell’s widow, Sonia, after his death and covertly funded the production as anti-Communist propaganda. Some sources assert that the ending of the story was altered by the CIA (in the book, the pigs and humans join forces) to press home their message”.

“The speed of communications is wondrous to behold. It is also true that speed can multiply the distribution of information that we know to be untrue.” –Edward R. Murrow (1908-1965), American broadcast journalist

The power of the Internet

The Internet is expanding at a faster rate than most of we mere mortals can understand. Someone seriously compared its rate of growth to the speed of light, though we suspect he’s prone to exaggerating. Even so, its growth is impressive, that much we know.

Impressive, too, is the growth and power of online news and especially social media. Nowhere has this been better demonstrated than during the Arab Spring, the revolution that is sweeping the Arab world. Since 2010, Egyptians, Libyans and more recently Syrians have effectively used the Internet both to access foreign news during media blackouts and to get news and images to the outside world as dramatic events unfolded in their respective countries.

Just as the Internet offers society many advantages and disadvantages so, too, does online journalism. On the one hand, alternative thought-provoking news and ideas can be aired online whereas they’d never see the light of day in a metropolitan daily newspaper or other conventional media outlets.

online newsroom best practicesOn the other hand, there are fewer checks and balances online where anyone can write just about anything and get away with it.

This duality of online news is exemplified by the rise of freelance journalists using the Internet to their advantage. Citizen journos we call them.

Some of these citizen journos are qualified reporters who, for various reasons, have chosen to go it alone. Many may prefer the autonomy that comes with freelance writing, others may have become disillusioned with traditional mainstream reporting. Some are good, some are bad and some should probably be shot. The latter, who are usually inexperienced or wannabe journalists, often pretend to present unbiased news stories. In reality, they have radical agendas be they political, religious, racist or whatever. These agendas, incidentally, aren’t always apparent when you visit their blog sites.

It’s also important to remember that mainstream media are major players on the Internet. Almost all major newspapers, television and radio networks have online news portals to recycle their news to reach audiences far beyond their traditional catchment areas.

Despite the Internet’s faults, more and more people are viewing it as the only source for truthful information. Politicians and business moguls are aware of this and are actively lobbying to restrict or censor this medium so they can continue to manipulate, or better still control, public opinion.

Those same politicians and moguls are very mindful of initiatives like the Occupy Wall Street movement whose members are so heavily reliant on social media to spread their message. Young people are becoming more switched on, too. They’re increasingly favoring alternative websites and citizen journos over mainstream media when it comes to receiving news and information.

We are the 99 % poster

“We are the 99%.”…catchcry of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

#

So, what are we to believe when we search online or open that newspaper or switch on that radio or TV set for our daily dose of news?

Unfortunately there’s no easy answer. As we keep saying, retain a healthy skepticism and don’t believe everything you’re told. The truth is out there…somewhere!

Operation-Paperclip-The-CIA-And-the-Nazis3

History reminds us that communism was already a dominant political force even before the echoes of World War Two had faded. After the war, as the Soviet Union began to encroach on more and more nations, communism and the threat of nuclear war were the West’s two big fears.

However, there is a lesser known school of thought that says fascism actually posed an even bigger threat post-WW2.

On the surface, this theory doesn’t make much sense for officially speaking fascism was all but expunged from the Earth when the Allies demolished the Nazi war machine. From then on, the only fascist remnants appeared to be obscure far-right political parties as well as the odd white supremacist or anti-Semitic group.

But that’s just on the surface and what the history books tell us.

Alternative versions that lie beneath commonly accepted 20th Century history claim many Western nations – the US in particular – only missed out on becoming fascist states by a whisker. Such ideas pose the almost unthinkable question: what if Nazism morphed into something else and continued underground, in another guise, in the West?

“The fascists. They took over this country straight after World War Two. Kennedy was the last president who knew anything about this. All those who followed him have been kept in the dark.”The Orphan Factory

Fascist ideologies, practices and technologies didn’t vanish with the death of Hitler and Nazi Germany, this radical conspiracy theory suggests. Instead, they actually grew in popularity with fascist supporters springing up in senior positions of power in various Western governments. However, this theory asserts that fascism became harder to detect because of its more subtle implementation, which perhaps indicates this new breed of fascists learnt from the failures of the Third Reich.

Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?

We thought so too…until we came across a little known US Government program whose declassified files reveal damning evidence of co-operation between Nazi party survivors and the highest ranking American politicians.

Project Paperclip

As stated in chapter 2, America’s mind control programs stemmed from the US Government’s Project Paperclip, but it wasn’t just Nazi brainwashing techniques the Americans inherited. They also seized Nazi scientists whose number included known war criminals.

The top secret project, also known as Operation Paperclip, was a nefarious undertaking that allowed Nazi scientists to migrate to the US without prosecution. Some had studied brainwashing and other mind control methods first-hand in the concentration camps; many were rocket scientists who had been directly involved in the development of Germany’s feared V-1 and V-2 rockets. The latter’s contribution would pave the way for NASA and the Moon landings, and also for America’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile program.

File:Project Paperclip Team at Fort Bliss.jpg

Nazi rocket scientists who made up the Project Paperclip team at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Project Paperclip was as much about denying German scientific expertise to the Soviet Union and Britain as it was benefiting US science, defence and space programs. This was happening as the Cold War loomed don’t forget and an uncertain world was being carved up by superpowers. It was a three-way grab (for the spoils) between the Americans, the Soviets and the Brits.

Remember, Nazi Germany’s scientific breakthroughs were nothing short of revolutionary. Although it didn’t last long, the Nazi era was arguably the most accelerated scientific period in history, especially when suppressed or little known Nazi inventions are taken into account. History reminds us how easily the Third Reich dominated Europe despite being greatly outnumbered by the combined Allied forces. The Germans ruled the land, sea and air, and it was obvious to all they had superior technologies.

Image

The Germans’ V2 rocket (above) and the horror it brought to the Brits in WW2 (below).

The Allies learned the hard way that Nazi engineers and scientists had made incredible breakthroughs in various fields. These included semi-conductors, plasma physics, ballistic missiles, laser technologies, electromagnetic weapons, computers, astrophysics, infrared night vision and miniature electronics to name but a few. While some of these breakthroughs were commonly known, others remained classified and were kept secret for decades.

A BBC News report dated November 21, 2005 nicely summarizes the situation that existed at the close of WW2. That report states: “The end of World War II saw an intense scramble for Nazi Germany’s many technological secrets. The Allies vied to plunder as much equipment and expertise as possible from the rubble of the Thousand Year Reich for themselves, while preventing others from doing the same”.

The report continues: “The range of Germany’s technical achievement astounded Allied scientific intelligence experts accompanying the invading forces in 1945”.

That BBC News report also reminds us “It was the US and the Soviet Union which, in the first days of the Cold War, found themselves in a race against time to uncover Hitler’s scientific secrets”.

Project Paperclip was America’s solution to this problem. Supposedly named after the paperclips that were used to attach the files of the recruited German scientists, the project was the brainchild of America’s Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JOIA), a sub-committee of the Joint Chief’s of Staff of the US Armed Forces.

Project Paperclip’s architects viewed their secret endeavor as the solution to harnessing Nazi scientists’ superior knowledge and expertise, and positioning America as the world leader in science and technology.

MK-Ultra, the CIA’s far-reaching mind-control program, was an umbrella project spawned from the US Government’s super-secret Project Paperclip, a sinister venture that involved bringing dozens of Nazi scientists to America immediately after World War Two.The Ninth Orphan

Paperclip Nazis get their greencards

The recruitment of Nazi scientists began as soon as the war ended although the project itself wasn’t officially signed off by President Harry Truman until three months later.

It should be noted that while Truman stipulated that scientists who were active in the Nazi Party, or who actively supported it, should not be recruited, such limitations would have precluded the recruitment of the most eligible prospects.

Declassified files show that Truman’s orders were ignored. All recruits were cleared to work in America after their backgrounds were cleaned up. US authorities created fake resumes, removing any mention of Nazi involvement, and entire false identities were designed for the highest profile war criminals.

Those same declassified files also indicate that, at one point, around 10,000 Nazis were living undercover in America. (Some estimates are as high as 15,000). Many were awarded citizenship. Imagine how many descendants of those Nazis reside in the US today. It’s quite possible some are reading this book right now.

operation-paperclip-300x235

Tom Bower’s 1987 book, The Paperclip Conspiracy: The Hunt for the Nazi Scientists, provides an insightful look at the history behind the project and reminds readers how quickly morals can be set to one side to meet an apparent need – in this case the need for scientific knowledge. The author cites official WW2 files as his main source of information.

Worldwide asylum for Nazi scientists

Reviewers of Bower’s book have picked up on a key point he makes – notably that the Americans, Soviets and Brits were fiercely competing to secure Nazi scientists for themselves and were prepared to overlook the fact some, or possibly many, were known war criminals.

Various international media reports have also confirmed Britain and other countries outside the US were extremely active in pursuing Nazi scientists.

For example, The Guardian newspaper edition of August 17, 1999 reports that Britain secretly organized the recruitment and transfer to Australia of scores of leading Nazi scientists and weapons specialists after the close of WW2.

Quoting newly declassified Australian Government papers, The Guardian says the German scientists sent to Australia under a top secret project codenamed Operation Matchbox included SS and Nazi party members.

The article also states: “The leading Nazi-hunting watchdog, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, in Jerusalem, yesterday demanded an investigation into the recruitments ordered by Britain and the US, and said Australia was a haven for ‘holocaust perpetrators and mass murderers’.”

The same newspaper, on August 29, 2007, reports that, contrary to general assumption, German scientists and technicians were forcibly evacuated from Germany to Britain for more than two years after cessation of hostilities. In other words, they didn’t volunteer. From what we can deduce, the same applies to those who ended up working in the US and the Soviet Union.

Welcome mat rolled out for war criminals

In the post-war years in the US, Project Paperclip remained hush-hush and only a select few knew of its existence. It wasn’t until much later the American public learned the truth – or part of the truth at least.

A US Justice Department report dated December 2006 states: “In the 1970’s, the public was shocked to learn that some Nazi persecutors had emigrated to the United States. There were calls for their expulsion and legislation was passed to facilitate their deportation. OSI (the Office of Special Investigations) was created in 1979 to handle the caseload”.

In the report, the Justice Department goes to great lengths to explain that the obstacles to success in prosecuting these Nazi war criminals were formidable. It lists numerous reasons supporting this opinion – not the least being that so much time had passed and many of the recruits had died.

Several prominent US newspapers have claimed that the Justice Department report reveals OSI investigators learned some of the Nazis were knowingly granted entry to the US even though government officials were aware of their pasts. Some journalists have observed that America, with its proud history of providing sanctuary for the persecuted including Holocaust survivors, had ended up giving asylum to some of their persecutors.

A New York Times article dated November 13, 2010 takes the Justice Department to task for sitting on its report for so long. The article states: “The 600-page report, which the Justice Department has tried to keep secret for four years, provides new evidence about more than two dozen of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last three decades”.

However, it’s the article’s intro that caught our eye. It reads: “A secret history of the US Government’s Nazi-hunting operation concludes that American intelligence officials created a safe haven in the US for Nazis and their collaborators after WW2 and it details decades of clashes, often hidden, with other nations over war criminals here and abroad”.

While over 300 Nazi migrants have either been deported or refused visas to America since OSI’s formation, the Justice Department’s report leaves no doubt the US Government collaborated with notorious war criminals and knowingly granted them entry into the US.

The CIA doesn’t escape censure either. Its “use of Nazis for postwar intelligence purposes” comes under the spotlight in the report.

So who were these Paperclip Nazis?

There’s obviously too many Paperclip Nazis to name them all, but here’s a few confirmed names that kept popping up in our research.

Rocket engineer and prominent Nazi Arthur Rudolph was a major player in the development of Germany’s V-2 rocket before being brought to the US. Rudolph subsequently worked for the US Army, developing missile systems, and for NASA, helping pioneer America’s space program. After being investigated for possible war crimes, he struck a deal with the US Government that enabled him to depart the country without being prosecuted (in the US).One of the accusations leveled at him was that he’d worked thousands of slave laborers to death – an accusation he denied.

File:Arthur Rudolph.jpg

Paperclip Nazi Arthur Rudolph proudly displays a model of a NASA rocket.

Engineer Georg Rickhey was awarded the War Merit Cross for his work overseeing Germany’s production of the V-1 and V-2 rockets. After being brought to the US, he was returned to Germany to face accusations of having cooperated with the Gestapo and the SS. However, lack of evidence saw him acquitted and returned to continue his work in the US.

File:Georg Rickhey.jpg

Physiologist Hubertus Strughold, Chief of Aeromedical Research with the German Luftwaffe, subsequently worked at a high level in medical positions in NASA and the US Air Force. Strughold was bestowed the unofficial title of ‘the father of space medicine’ for his studies of the effects of spaceflight on astronauts. Before and after his death, he became the subject of several investigations into alleged war crimes, suffering significant damage to his reputation. One allegation leveled against him was that he was involved in Dachau Concentration Camp experiments, including one in which camp inmates were exposed to freezing conditions.

Since Strughold’s death, debate has raged between former colleagues and between fellow scientists. Some insist his involvement with the Nazis should preclude any honors being bestowed upon him while others claim there was no evidence to prove he was guilty of the crimes he was accused of.

Perhaps the most prominent Nazi import was rocket scientist Wernher von Braun who is referred to as ‘the father of rocket science’. Herr von Braun spearheaded Nazi Germany’s development of rocket technology, and later, in company with key members of his team, became a leading figure in America’s rocket program. Along with his protégé Doctor Hermann Oberth, he was an integral part of America’s first Moon-landing.

File:Dornberger-Axter-von Braun.jpg

An injured Wernher von Braun surrenders to the Americans. (1945).

In the biography of von Braun on NASA’s official website, readers are advised the scientist engineered the surrender of 500 of his top rocket scientists, along with plans and test vehicles, to the Americans. He worked with the US Army for 15 years developing ballistic missiles before being sent to the US and eventually becoming a naturalized American.

File:Wernher von Braun.jpg

Given that mind control as we know it was first mastered during Hitler’s reign, it’s no surprise Nazi psychiatrists were also among those brought into the US post WW2.

As Dr. Thomas Roeder and co-authors Volker Kubillus and Anthony Burwell revealed in their 1995 book Psychiatrists: The Men Behind Hitler, psychiatry was highly valued in the Third Reich. From declassified Paperclip files it’s obvious the science of the mind was equally valued by US authorities.

What’s insane is that after the American public had paid an enormously high price to win WW2, US taxpayers then paid for Josef Mengele’s protégés to live and work in America.

This means that Doctor Mengele’s dark scientific legacy not only included the countless victims of the Holocaust experiments he conducted, but also the thousands of American and Canadian casualties of the MK-Ultra program.

File:Auschwitz II-Birkenau main entrance and train wagon.JPG

Auschwitz concentration camp…just a stepping stone for Mengele and his associates.

When considering Project Paperclip’s influence on modern mind control programs, the doctor’s moniker The Angel of Death suddenly becomes even more relevant.

“What national security permits the removal of fundamental power from the hands of the American people and validates the ascendancy of an invisible government in the United States? That kind of national security, gentlemen of the jury, is when it smells like it, feels like it, and looks like it, you call it what it is: Fascism! I submit to you that what took place on November 22, 1963 was a coup d’etat.” –Monologue delivered by Kevin Costner and written by Oliver Stone in JFK (1991)

Unit 731 – the Japanese Auschwitz

The Unit 731 Japanese Biological Warfare research facility.

It seems there was another post-WW2 program remarkably similar to Project Paperclip, involving Japanese scientists and war criminals rather than the Nazis. The US was a key player in this program, too. As a comparative example, it’s worth studying to better understand why Western superpowers protected known war criminals throughout the mid-late 20th Century.

This program involves a ghastly human experimentation project at the infamous Unit 731, an isolated Japanese Biological Warfare research facility located in what was then Manchuria, a Japanese puppet state, but is now Northeast China. The experimentation project was the brainchild of the notoriously cruel General Shirō Ishii, a scientist who was effectively Japan’s equivalent of Dr. Joseph Mengele.

Researchers at Unit 731, which facilitated secret biological and chemical warfare research, mainly used captured Chinese and Russian subjects for their horrific medical experiments. However, their human guinea pigs also included American, Australian, New Zealand and British prisoners of war.

General Ishii’s medical testing at the secret Manchurian facility included high-voltage electric shock experiments, cyanide poisonings, frostbite studies, biological weapons testing including anthrax, heroin and other drug tests, and injecting prisoners with bacteria from plague-infected fleas procured from mice; live dissections on prisoners were also common and the victims were not even given any painkillers while their bodies were slowly dissected.

The prisoners were referred to as “monkeys” in scientific papers, even though it was common knowledge amongst the Japanese military and in political circles that the test subjects were in fact humans. Tens of thousands of victims died at Unit 731 and its sister sites.

Although less widely reported than Mengele’s medical research at Auschwitz, many historians have compared the hideous medical experiments at Unit 731 to the Nazi medical experiments during the Holocaust.

Parallels with Project Paperclip are numerous. Declassified documents have revealed that after the war ended, large-scale collaboration occurred between America and scientists of Unit 731. What’s more, the insidious Japanese research became the basis for many US military operations – and like the Nazi scientists protected by Project Paperclip, many of Unit 731’s scientists went on to have prominent careers after the war.

Just as the Nazis had made incredible scientific breakthroughs during the war years, it appears Japan was another scientific giant of the era. Germany and Japan obviously got the jump on the rest of the world in the area of medical research by being able to ruthlessly experiment on as many human subjects as they wanted. And this informative and valuable research was desired by both the US and the Soviet Union at the start of the Cold War.

Japan’s scientific breakthroughs most likely explain why General Ishii and all the other Japanese scientists involved in Unit 731 were never tried for war crimes by the US or by any other Allied nation.

A US intelligence cable advised the War Department that the Japanese scientists, “headed by Ishii did violate rules of land warfare,” but that “this expression of opinion is not a recommendation that group be charged and tried as such.”

Further evidence of the United States’ intentions is evidenced by the actions of General Douglas MacArthur. While serving as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, MacArthur wrote to Washington DC on May 6, 1947 as follows: “Statements from Ishii probably can be obtained by informing Japanese involved that information will be retained in intelligence channels and will not be employed as ‘War Crimes’ evidence.”

The following year, in exchange for all their biological warfare research, MacArthur orchestrated a deal with the scientists of Unit 731, including General Ishii, whereby they were secretly granted complete immunity from prosecution. Claims of the horrors Allied POW’s endured at the hands of their Japanese captors were from that point on ignored, and the ensuing Tokyo War Crimes trials omitted reference to Ishii and his staff.

File:IMTFE defendants.jpg

Japanese war crimes trial defendants…those involved with Unit 731 conspicuous by their absence.

In the decades immediately after the war ended, the Japanese and American governments continuously denied any conspiracy surrounding the legacy of Unit 731.

However, another file from General MacArthur’s headquarters confirms the ugly truth. In it, MacArthur states that in studying General Ishii’s work, “utmost secrecy is essential in order to protect the interests of the United States and to guard against embarrassment”.

Like the US, the Soviets also appear to have secured some of the Japanese scientists’ human experimentation research, for after WW2 a biological weapons facility was built in Sverdlovsk, in the Soviet Union. The Sverdlovsk facility and practices within it are said to have been almost a carbon copy of what was detailed in Unit 731 documents.

Many conspiracy theorists as well as a number of biological weapons researchers claim the US military secretly began testing germ warfare on American citizens without their knowledge. These tests, which were apparently conducted from the 1950’s onwards, are said by some to be based on the science of Unit 731, and include tests still classified by the CIA and the US Army’s Chemical and Biological Warfare laboratories.

The suspicion lingers that many of the US military’s covert biological warfare operations since WW2, including the Vietnam War’s Operation Ranch Hand, may be related to Unit 731 – and Gulf War Syndrome could also be the result of biological warfare directly inspired by General Ishii’s germ warfare experiments.

If by chance Chemtrails – that favorite Tinfoil Hat theory which suggests governments release chemical agents into the skies above populated areas – is one day proven to be a reality, then the Japanese experiments could also be the basis for these as well.

Along with Yamashita’s Gold and Project Paperclip, Unit 731 and its aftermath – including America’s involvement – remained one of the best kept secrets of the post war era. The public finally learned about this dreadful secret in 1993 when then US Defense Secretary William Perry finally declassified army and intelligence records relating to the Japanese human experimentation during WW2.

To refocus on Project Paperclip, there’s no doubt that bringing Nazi scientists into the US fast-tracked its scientific programs. However, it’s our opinion the project had political and moral ramifications for American society as well.

As we wrote in chapter 2, mind control was a fascist technology that appears to have enabled assassinations of many important American figures. And in chapter 7, we mentioned how a Splinter Civilization appears to have suppressed advanced technologies and used them for their own ends – much as the Nazis hid secrets from the German people before and during WW2.

Just as science and psychiatry were such a large part of the Third Reich, Project Paperclip had profound effects on American and Western society as a whole. In fact, it could easily be argued fascism subtly wormed its way into government ideologies the world over.

Added to this concern is the fact that there are still a large number of classified Project Paperclip documents in existence. If their contents are more controversial than, or even as controversial as, those of the declassified documents, the mind boggles at what secrets they hide. What else were the Nazi recruits used for and how many more war criminals were admitted to the US at war’s end? Let’s not forget the UK and Australia either; they had their Project Paperclip equivalents as did Russia.

At least one conspiracy theory author claims Josef Mengele briefly lived and worked in the US before being transferred to South America. Mengele’s name appears in no Paperclip documents, however. At least not in any declassified documents.

Josef Mengele.jpg

Josef Mengele’s…his dark legacy lives on.

If and when the remaining files are ever declassified, they may reveal even greater collusion between Nazi Party survivors and the US Government. In fact, we suspect they will. Otherwise, why do they remain classified?

Perhaps it’s not too big a stretch to suggest that Nazi ideologies continue to the present day behind the veil of supposedly free societies and governments.

Some conspiracy theorists go even further and suggest the Fourth Reich – a long-predicted successor of the Third Reich – has already been achieved. And in the United States, no less!

Citing evidence of high-ranking survivors of Germany’s Third Reich being given sanctuary in the West through top-secret operations like Project Paperclip, this theory suggests Nazi practices like human experimentation, media manipulation, military aggression and 1984-style government controls on citizens have become a reality.

We don’t claim to have all the answers on this subject – or any answers for that matter.

But one thing’s for sure: Project Paperclip, not to mention Unit 731, deserves more attention from historians and mainstream media than it currently receives.

Nurse Hilda was also aware that Francis’ DNA would be useful in some of the illicit scientific experiments the agency’s medical people were carrying out on human guinea pigs in its various underground labs. One of its many legitimate businesses, KaizerSimonsKovak, just happened to be the world’s number one pharmaceutical company, and Omega was anxious to protect its market share and the huge revenues it generated. Those same revenues helped finance Omega’s activities. The Orphan Uprising

In book one in in our international thriller The Orphan Trilogy, we show Nine discovering an underground orphanage and witnessing the most horrible medical and scientific experiments imaginable being conducted on young orphans; in book three in the trilogy, we show one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies kidnapping orphans and placing them in clandestine orphanages all over the world.

These are obviously fictional incidents, but they were inspired by some of the horrific medical experiments that have been reported over the years – since and including the Nazi era of heinous medical experimentation on concentration camp inmates. Naturally, being dramatists, we sensationalized things a fair bit in the trilogy…

Or did we?

You don’t need to be a genius to know that corruption is rife in the world’s most lucrative fields. It seems few in positions of power have the ability to resist the temptation of generating vast sums of money via devious if not downright dishonest means.

Whether it be profiting from manufactured arms conflicts, manipulating financial markets or creating the illusion of a scarcity of minerals and resources, history proves greed is often the rule and not the exception when it comes to the global elite’s pursuit of wealth – or, perhaps more pertinently and disturbingly, when it comes to their pursuit of greater wealth.

Many argue that the medical sector is no different. This seems a strange accusation given most in this field, including doctors, nurses and hospital staff, embark on their careers out of a compassionate and genuine desire to care for the sick.

Unfortunately, there are powers-that-be whose motives are not so noble. Collectively and unofficially called the Medical Industrial Complex, they comprise a surprisingly large number of individuals, corporations, government health services and, dare we say it, hangers-on. Those in the latter category include the likes of health systems consultants, insurers, banking executives, accountants, lawyers, construction experts and even realtors.

Big PharmaOther key players in this complex include hospitals, the medical academic establishment, hospital supply and equipment companies, and of course the drug companies – let’s not forget them.

To put the Medical Industrial Complex into perspective, consider this: modern medicine is one of the largest and most profitable industries on the planet. Someone who should know described it as America’s biggest industry. Not sure it’s as big as the war industry, but if it ain’t, it must be a close second.

At the time of writing, Americans were transfixed, bemused and frustrated by the partisan squabbling surrounding President Obama’s attempts to sort out the country’s healthcare provisions once and for all.

One who summarizes America’s health problems better than most is William A. Collins, a former state representative and former Mayor of Norwalk, Connecticut. In an article dated August 21, 2013, on OtherWords.org, Collins says in the US, the health industry’s big players focus on making as much money as possible.

Collins also says, “The providers devise the system, making profits a high priority. Patients that can’t contribute to profit margins are shunted off to government services or ignored… The network of handshakes and private agreements that links hospitals to medical device manufacturers and drug reps inflates our health cost just as much as the insurance and Big Pharma… Fortunately, the main offenders can be clearly labeled. Chief among them are the health insurers and the drug manufacturers. Big Pharma wields an army of lobbyists and administers large doses of campaign contributions to their friends in Congress”.

https://morcanbooksandfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/814be-4140380_f248.jpgFor those not familiar with the term Big Pharma, it’s the nickname given to the major pharmaceutical conglomerates which collectively form this multi-trillion dollar industry. Many believe Big Pharma can be compared to the most corrupt banks, media monopolies or oil corporations.

If you haven’t worked it out already, the conspiracy theory we explore in this chapter contends that Big Pharma and other participants in the Medical Industrial Complex put profits ahead of patients’ wellbeing and dollars ahead of lives.

Conspiring to quash alternative medicines

If Big Pharma is the Devil in this medical conspiracy theory, then natural/alternative medicine would probably be God.

Many of those in the medical fraternity instantly label treatments in the traditional, natural or holistic health fields as quackery. This word is even used to describe Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Indian Ayerveda, two medical systems which are far older than Western medicine and globally just as popular.

https://morcanbooksandfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/db26b-big-1.jpg

One sign that the Medical Industrial Complex may view natural/alternative medicine as a financial threat is the sweeping law changes it has forced upon the alternative health market in recent years. Today, most nations now have laws requiring any health substance with medicinal claims to be legally defined as “drugs”. This includes herbal remedies and various other non-drug medicines of natural origins. Critics say such laws prevent wider distribution of natural health products and give Big Pharma ever more control.

In the US, these laws are monitored by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), an organization which conspiracy theorists argue is at the very top of the Medical Industrial Complex. That’s right folks, the same FDA that allows genetically-modified Monsanto organisms in your food supply and the same FDA that allows your kids to consume Aspartame in soft drinks is the organization responsible for telling Americans how they can and cannot treat their illnesses.

It has been repeatedly argued by natural health proponents that major pharmaceutical companies, along with their supportive cronies in governments, conspired to pass these laws to force the public to only use modern medicines that are pharmacological, patented and profitable.

Call us crazy, but we think any product with 100% natural and non-synthetic ingredients such as herbs, veggies and roots should be in a totally separate category to synthetic, laboratory-made pharmaceutical drugs.

Many alternative health researchers also claim that little funding is granted for research into natural or traditional cures because Big Pharma cannot patent things which occur organically in nature.

One such example is the work of high-profile American chemist and Nobel Peace Prize-recipient Linus Pauling (1901-1994). He received no support from the medical establishment for radical health discoveries he claimed he discovered when experimenting with mega-doses of Vitamin C. Despite his illustrious credentials, Pauling was also labeled a quack for his claims that the natural, unpatentable Vitamin C could cure a whole host of diseases, including cancer.

L Pauling.jpg

Linus Pauling…labeled a quack despite his credentials.

However, it appears Pauling may have the last laugh, albeit posthumously. Several high profile studies in the last few years suggest his theories on high dose Vitamin C being an effective anticancer agent may indeed be correct.

Suppressed cures

As covered in chapter 7, there seems to be more than enough evidence to support the claim that at least some scientific breakthroughs are suppressed. Unfortunately, it appears this also happens within modern medicine where cures for various illnesses mysteriously vanish or are quashed by the medical establishment.

This suppression theory supports the assertion that Big Pharma needs sick people to prosper. Patients, not healthy people, are their customers. If everybody was cured of a particular illness or disease, pharmaceutical companies would lose 100% of their profits on the products they sell for that ailment.

What all this means is because modern medicine is so heavily intertwined with the financial profits culture, it’s a sickness industry more than it is a health industry.

The cancer industry world wide is estimated at a 200 billion dollar a year industry. There are many in various associated positions within that industry who would be without a job if that cash flow dried up suddenly with the news that there are cheaper, less harmful, and more efficacious remedies available. Big Pharmacy would virtually vanish.” –Paul Fassa. Article excerpt in Natural News, September 24, 2009.

Finding (hiding) a cure for cancer

In the West at least, cancer is the biggest natural killer. Some fatality estimates have been as high as 20,000 cancer patients worldwide dying every day. When a cancer cure is finally found it will save millions of lives and will be the medical discovery of this era.

In the last few decades, hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent internationally on cancer research. In the US alone, since President Nixon launched his ‘War on Cancer’ program in 1971, tens of billions in government funding have been granted to cancer researchers.

However, there are theories out there which suggest there has already been a cure, or many cures, discovered for cancer. These popular conspiracy theories suggest the Medical Industrial Complex have a huge financial incentive to suppress cures so they can continue to provide their own costly treatments for cancer patients.

If true, that would be a callous and unforgiveable business model, unnecessarily costing countless lives.

There are many case studies that support the theory. Here’s a sample of those.

In the 1920’s, Canadian nurse Rene Caisse developed a natural concoction of herbs called Essiac. She claimed it could cure cancer and garnered many testimonials from satisfied patients said to be cancer-free after taking the product. Laboratory tests did not confirm Essiac offered any benefits whatsoever, but conspiracy theorists argue the lab tests were rigged and that Big Pharma flexed its muscle to shut Caisse down.

In the 1940’s, German-born American physician Max Gerson (1881-1959) developed anutrition-based cancer treatmentcalled Gerson Therapy. After repeatedly claiming his therapy cured cancer, Doctor Gerson had his medical license suspended and he died while still under suspension. Although now a maligned and mostly forgotten cancer treatment in America, it remains popular in Mexico where there are Gerson clinics in operation, treating local and foreign cancer patients.

In the 1950’s, American coal miner Harry Hoxsey promoted his family’s century-old herbal recipe, which he touted as a cancer cure. He set up clinics in 17 states around America before all were closed down by the FDA.Hoxsey made a rare documentary film in 1957 called You Don’t Have to Die, which detailed his cure and covered the patients he treated with it. There’s a more recent documentary titled Hoxsey: How Healing Becomes a Crime, which chronicles his battles with ‘organized medicine’.

In the 1980’s, Italian medical doctor, chemist and pharmacologist Luigi di Bella (1912-2003) claimed to have developed a cure for cancer known as Di Bella Therapy. The formula was a combination of vitamins, drugs and hormones.

The American Cancer Society says on its website that numerous studies showed Di Bella Therapy “may have had a negative effect compared to the outcome for similar patients receiving standard treatment”.

However, there are some alternative medical researchers who believe Di Bella therapy was a legitimate cancer cure that was permanently quashed by the medical establishment.

Despite the extremely negative press garnered in Italy and the rest of the world there are, or were, cancer patients who swore by Di Bella Therapy and gave testimonials. For example, on the website beatingcancercenter.org is the following statement: “For about three years, the patient has been following the Di Bella therapy without side effects, improving the quality of life and going back to work.”

Luigi di Bella himself consistently stated that pharmaceutical companies were conspiring against him.

cura-di-bella.jpg

Professor Luigi di Bella…claims Big Pharma was out to get him.

The list of other supposed cancer cures said to have been suppressed is long enough to fill a whole book. These range from Cannabidiol, the little-known medical compound found in Marijuana, to a treatment that involves ingesting nothing other than regular household baking soda.

If you have cancer or know anyone who has been diagnosed with the disease, Massimo Mazzucco’s 2010 documentary film Cancer: The Forbidden Cures is a good starting place for those searching for natural cures.

Of course, always consult with your doctor first. (And in case you’re wondering, this is another disclaimer we had to include for legal reasons!).

To be fair, the natural health sector has attracted its share of quacks, too, so all claims of cures should be treated with a degree of skepticism until proven. However, automatically riding roughshod over claims of natural cures, especially where those claims are supported by glowing, bona-fide testimonials, is not the answer any more than gullibly believing them all is.

There are those who may argue that Big Pharma could also make money out of cures for cancer and that it would be a lot easier than suppressing cures. To counter that, many independent medical researchers say long-term or ongoing cancer treatments, like chemotherapy, would be far more profitable than delivering single-visit cures. It has been estimated that the average cancer patient spends tens of thousands of dollars on standard treatments with some even spending hundreds of thousands.

Again, Big Pharma’s repeat customers are sick people. From a financial perspective, cured people are of little use.

As the cancer industry alone is a multi-trillion dollar industry for Big Pharma, it seems believable that if any cure was to be suppressed for financial gain it would be a cancer cure.

Like all companies in the legal drug trade, KaizerSimonsKovak needed to test new drugs before releasing them onto the market. While its competitors tested their new drugs mostly on rats, mice and monkeys, KSK had the advantage of being able to test them on humans. No KSK employee, or indeed anyone outside Omega, was aware of that, however. All testing was contracted out – to another Omega-owned company. And its modus operandi was far from legal. The Orphan Uprising

Human guinea pigs

On May 14, 2013, German news magazine Der Spiegel ran an article about international drug companies conducting illegal tests on impoverished citizens in India. The article stated, “The practice is forbidden, but the use of subcontractors makes it difficult to detect”.

In 2008, it was revealed that over a two-and-a- half-year period of testing medicines at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), 49 babies had died during clinical studies. The Times of India reported this incident in no uncertain terms in an August 19, 2008 article headlined 49 babies die during clinical trials at AIIMS.

AIIMS headquarters in New Delhi… site of illegal testing of patients.

Such experimentation is in direct violation of the World Medical Association’s Declaration of Helsinki, which requires subjects in tests to be shielded from harm. However, in the AIIMS scandal the accused international drug manufacturers denied all responsibility for, or even any involvement in, the tests on the babies.

Besides India, it’s common for Big Pharma to carry out illegal testing of medicines and drugs on human subjects in Russia, Brazil and China. So maybe showing orphans being used to test pharmaceutical drugs on in The Orphan Uprising is not that far-fetched after all.

He deliberately avoided using the term human guinea pig, preferring test subject to convey what was in store for Francis. It sounded more benign. The Orphan Uprising

Sinking natural health products in a sea of red tape? Suppressing cancer cures? Turning humans into lab rats? Cynically targeting babies, impoverished people, psychiatric patients, prisoners and others who don’t have a voice for unethical medical testing?

Even if a fraction of the conspiracy theories explored in this chapter are true, it appears something has run amuck in the medical field – within Big Pharma and other key players in the Medical Industrial Complex in particular. For obvious reasons we can’t name names, but one thing’s for sure…You know who you are!

But we ain’t doctors, so what do we know? Oh, and did we mention we forgot to take our medication whilst writing this chapter? Hmmm, maybe that’s why we’re feeling so paranoid…
