The Catcher in the Rye Enigma, our latest book in The Underground Knowledge Series, was prompted by our belief some of the theories swirling about J.D. Salinger’s literary classic, The Catcher in the Rye, deserve another look.

The Catcher in the Rye Enigma: J.D. Salinger’s Triggering Device or a Coincidental Literary Obsession of Criminals?

The idea that assassination codes are buried deep in Salinger’s book is one of the oldest conspiracy theories around and has often been explored over the decades. In fact, many readers familiar with Catcher conspiracies may think all the theories have already been proven to be false and there’s no need to drag them up yet again.

Salinger’s classic.

However, given what we, the authors, unearthed in our research for this book, we believe some of the theories swirling about it do deserve further analysis. Especially the unique revelations on the history of mind control, the effectiveness of subliminal messages, the latest scientific studies on the brain, the Americanized Nazis in Project Paperclip and the recently declassified documents on real-life Manchurian Candidates.

These revelations, and more, are explored in depth in The Catcher in the Rye Enigma.

MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX: The $ickness Industry, Big Pharma and Suppressed Cures (The Underground Knowledge Series Book 3)

In the Foreword to our new release book MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX: The $ickness Industry, Big Pharma and Suppressed Cures, retired pharmacist and author Denis Toovey says in his own career as a pharmacist spanning 40 years, he has seen many examples of patients falling through the cracks in the health system.

Denis’s foreword follows in full:

This book is part of The Underground Knowledge Series by James & Lance Morcan. In it, they raise some very important questions concerning the state of modern medicine today and the major players in the highly profitable medical sector. Questions that certainly need to be brought out into the open and discussed with politicians and administrators who often hide behind closed doors.

While it would be nice to think none of the negative issues raised in this book are true, my suspicions are that, sadly, this is not the case.

In my own career as a pharmacist spanning 40 years, I have seen many examples of patients falling through the cracks in the health system as a direct result of health providers focusing on high patient turnover on a ‘fee-for-service’ basis with no guarantee of results.

On top of this, all too often health professionals have to work within systems created by politicians and administrators that allow for zero direct responsibility for patient outcomes. In fact, it is interesting to consider that, despite the millions of dollars invested in research, we have few medicines that actually cure patients in the real sense of the word.

Sadly, for many doctors, ‘cure’ means ‘a quick fix,’ often putting patients on a medicine for the rest of their lives with the possibility of adverse side effects, and no guarantee of a positive outcome. In light of this, there is no hiding the huge influence drug companies have on the practice of medicine which has stalled finding real cures.

The health system is more about the ambulance at the bottom of a cliff than a fence at the top. What we need, I believe, is a focus on real cures and prevention of disease with a strong focus on the body (healthy lifestyle), mind and spirit.

I am sure people want to take more responsibility for their health, but often do not know where to start. Equally, some health professionals do not take too kindly to patients who want to be involved in decisions about their treatment.

The Morcans highlight the tendency to label holistic as quackery – an ironic description when you consider holistic practitioners tend to focus on dealing with the causes of disease rather than just treating symptoms with medicines.

I am excited that more doctors today are practicing functional medicine, which has a lot in common with a holistic approach. Incidentally, I encourage people to spell holistic ‘wholistic’ to emphasise the whole (big) picture.

Serious questions need to be asked about a health ‘system’ in which politicians are often reluctant to invest money in long term, preventative measures. Measures that may take years to show a return on investment. Instead, they tend to focus on short term tangible things like spending more money to reduce waiting surgical waiting lists (to win votes) instead of dealing with the long term underlying causes, such as obesity, that are plaguing our world.

Regarding obesity, the public health message to reduce fat intake has actually led to many people getting their energy from high Glycaemic index carbohydrates. These often lead to insulin resistance, diabetes and, believe it or not, the production of fat in the body, giving rise to obesity, which is linked to many diseases including cancer.

MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX: The $ickness Industry, Big Pharma and Suppressed Cures  was published today on Amazon. It’s a no-holds barred critique of mainstream medicine and the various players who make up one of the largest and most profitable industries on the planet.
Book 3 in ‘The Underground Knowledge Series’.
Written by novelists, filmmakers and independent researchers James Morcan & Lance Morcan, with a foreword by retired pharmacist Denis Toovey (author of Better Health for You: An Insider’s Big Picture Guide), this explosive book explores the contention that Big Pharma and other participants in the healthcare sector put profits ahead of patients’ wellbeing and dollars ahead of lives.Medical Industrial Complex  leaves no doubt that something has run amuck in the medical field, and what should be the noblest profession has been severely compromised by the various conflicting interests. The authors examine this in language anyone can understand. In the process, they draw attention to the rampant commercialism, political selfishness and dogmatic academia that plagues the industry.

The reader is reminded there are many honorable people within the medical establishment who are doing incredible things for their fellow Man. However, the reader is also reminded that doctors, hospitals, medical academia, pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment suppliers, health insurers et al make their money from sick people, not healthy people, and if everyone was healthy many of the aforementioned would be out of business…so it’s hardly in their financial interests to cure illnesses and ailments.

Medical Industrial Complex  asks some hard questions. Questions like: Is your doctor one of those (doctors) who receives kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies? How dangerous are our hospitals for patients? Do the drug companies make drugs or money? Is vaccinating children the smart thing for parents to do? Did you know these medical tests may kill you? Are cures really being suppressed? What’s the solution regarding private health insurance? Who is quashing alternative medicines? When did your doctor last talk to you about your diet?Above all the reader is urged to stop giving away complete responsibility to doctors and other healthcare providers. “It’s time to start looking at these people as they actually are: advisors for you to make decisions about what’s best for your body.”

New Zealand father-and-son writing team Lance and James Morcan have secured an Arabic translation rights deal for one of their non-fiction books with major Saudi Arabian publisher Obeikan Publishing.
The book, titled ‘GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ’, was published last December by Sterling Gate Books. The first book in the Morcans’ ‘Underground Knowledge Series’, it includes a foreword by acclaimed Japanese scientist Dr. Takaaki Musha, and is already a permanent fixture in Amazon’s bestseller lists.
GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ (The Underground Knowledge Series Book 1)
Translation rights deal a first.
In his foreword, Dr. Musha says he believes believe this is a much needed book for those who sense there are faster and easier ways to learn and study than the methods currently being taught in mainstream education systems. “It contains a wide range of genius methods – all of which have the potential to increase your IQ,” he says.
Commenting on the Saudi deal today, Lance Morcan says it was negotiated by their German-based world rights literary agent. “We are delighted Obeikan have secured the Arabic translation rights for Genius Intelligence,” he says. “Their initial commitment is a print run of 3000 copies and our book will be distributed throughout the Middle East.”
Lance says he and James have contracts with foreign literary agents around the world, ensuring they have representation for the translation rights for all their fiction and non-fiction books in all languages. The Saudi agreement is their first foreign language deal.
The Morcans now have 10 published titles, including the international thriller series ‘The Orphan Trilogy’ and historical adventure series ‘The World Duology’, with two more titles to be released in the coming weeks. One of these is ‘Medical Industrial Complex’, book three in ‘The Underground Knowledge Series’.

Do you believe A.I. (artificial intelligence) will ever be more advanced/sophisticated than human intelligence? That’s the question we put in our latest poll to members of our Underground Knowledge Discussion Group on Goodreads.com. Most respondents to date have answered “Yes” to the question.

119009

In posting this most intriguing of questions, we suggest fellow ‘Undergrounders’  (group members) consider whether AI will ever surpass humanity “over all” — meaning AI might be able to beat human intelligence in isolated fields like a game of chess, but can it ever be more advanced in almost every other intellectual field?

To date, interim poll results — to the question “Do you believe A.I. (artificial intelligence) will ever be more advanced/sophisticated than human intelligence?” — are as follows:

53% say Yes / 37% say No / 10% are Unsure.

A random selection of members’ (abridged) responses follows:

I believed No before that the machine can transcend the capability of human brain. But I think there is a possibility that the machine can transcend the human brain by studying the bain mechanism from the standpoint of superluminal particles. In some future, we will obtain the technology for superluminal physics which can manupulate superluminal particles, which can lead to the realization of HAL 9000 in this world.

I voted NO in this poll and believe AI will never beat human intelligence. Reason being in my opinion (which is really just a gut instinct) is that human intelligence has an indefinable creativity inbuilt in it that is unprogrammable.

I think it’s a matter of how you define “intelligence.” In terms of storing knowledge, we’re already there. My desktop “knows” a whole lot more than I do and databases store more than we could ever remember and then, of course, there’s Wikipedia. Synthesizing data is slightly more complex, but certainly possible given enough “if-then” statements. A certain level of morality can be programmed relatively easily…However, creativity and having emotions are another story. Those define us as humans and individuals. It’s also the driving force behind most of our actions. How much that can ever be imbued in a machine or robot is another story.

I voted “no”, but if humans continue to behave at na inferior level, without improving their skills, of course we will be beaten by AI. I mean, if we want to stay at the level of AI, or better, to overpass it, humans need to keep working continuosly on themselves, and improve their institutions and societies…In the jungle, without preparation, even a chacal beats us…

America’s Military Industrial Complex has taken the US in the exact opposite direction to the nation’s Founding Fathers’ orginal vision. This according to a commentary posted in our ‘Underground Knowledge’ group on Goodreads.com by co-moderator James Morcan.

James Morcan

James Morcan…”People need to get real.”

James’ commentary reads as follows:

I honestly feel the Military Industrial Complex has taken the US in the exact opposite direction to the original vision for America the nation’s Founding Fathers laid out…It’s an out of control entity that is single handedly destroying the US (economically and morally) in my view.

This is beyond dated ideas of Left or Right politics, and honestly there are as many Republicans/Patriots that no longer have any faith in the military’s ethics.

Vietnam veteran and Oscar-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone says the Military Industrial Complex is essentially a separate country to the US with virtually no interests that align with America’s interests and I’ve gotta agree with him there.

Many other insiders and whistleblowers have expressed the same opinion. For example, Underground Knowledge member Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI employee turned whistleblower, is one of numerous ex-intelligence agency employees who say these post 9/11 wars are being engineered by warmongers who are bankrupting the US in the process.

By causing all these wars or foreign invasions, the Military Industrial Complex is surely an entity that must be a thousand times bigger threat to the West’s freedom than any little outside threat such as Islamic desert nomads or cave dwellers are…Muslim extremists (a tiny percentage of the Islamic world) ain’t ever going to threaten the might of the American empire any more than the Domino Theory even got close to occurring when Vietnam fell and became entirely Communist (a long-held prediction by warmongers like MacArthur that proved to be woefully inaccurate). The US empire is arguably the most dominant in history and believing Islamic terrorists could ever be a threat would be equivalent to saying the small Jewish community at the time of Christ could overthrow Rome…

And I’m not ignoring terrorism or romanticizing the religion of Islam, but people need to get real about it.

Even if 9/11 was solely caused by terrorists with no assistance from rogue elements in the US Govt, which is a very big IF in my opinion, it still doesn’t amount to much overall. Especially as there’s been no other terrorist strikes of that magnitude since on US soil or anywhere else in the West.

I’m not some foreigner criticizing America for the sake of it by the way, but rather I’m someone who actually feels American in spirit and have also lived in the US and believe the foundations of America and the Constitution are by far the greatest construction of any nation in history. So I feel sad by what’s happened in recent decades. America can be, like it used to be, the light for the world that every other nation can aspire to be like in terms of civil liberties and equality for all citizens.

It’s also a shame that many foreigners when they now think of America now only think of a big, ugly fascist bully dominating and invading weaker nations. And that again is very sad as America once solely stood for freedom and the Founding Fathers also spoke of liberty for all other nations, not just America’s freedom. That Good Samaritan reputation has long since faded.

Whenever I come across people hating on America when I travel, I always try to explain to these people that there’s a massive difference between recent warmongering US administrations and the American people. I’ve been the recipient of a lot of goodwill from Americans, especially in my main career as a filmmaker, and I realize it’s not just foreign countries that have been screwed by the military but it’s also the American taxpayers as well.
