Membership of our contentious Underground Knowledge discussion group on Goodreads.com has topped 1000, making it one of the liveliest and fastest growing groups on the popular Amazon-owned literary site for readers and authors.

There’s no doubt the group’s growth and activity are testament to its freedom of speech policy. Anything goes…and members aren’t slow to exploit that! No subject is off limits. The fact that this group has no rules may also have something to do with its popularity.

A small sample of some of the group’s more controversial discussion threads follows:

Was 9/11 a false flag attack and ‘Inside Job’? 54% of you voted YES

Satanic Elite Child Hunting Parties

Are aliens visiting Earth or not????

And last but not least…

What really happened to the dinosaurs? And how come the Bible doesn’t mention dinosaurs? (A satirical discussion thread from deep inside the Underground mental asylum – DISCLAIMER: consult with your shrink before reading and post at your own risk!)

Our polls are also popular. Some of the results make for interesting reading – including our latest poll, which asks: Do you believe the official story of Osama Bin Laden’s death was real or staged? (So far, 49% of poll respondents say it was staged)…

The latest poll in our Underground Knowledge discussion group on Goodreads.com asks: Do you believe the official story of Osama Bin Laden’s death was real or staged? To date, 48% of poll respondents say it was staged, 31% say it was real and 21% are unsure.

Bin Laden…dead or alive?

A random selection of poll respondents’ comments follow. (Names withheld):

I tend not to believe the story of Osama Bin Laden’s death simply because upon further research there appears to be too many holes, inconsistencies and flat-out contradictions in the reports.

I believe Bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs as reported by the government. Are there inconsistencies in the reporting on his death? Yes. But consider this: As a former investigative journalist, I know reporters rarely get things 100% correct, nor does their reporting jive with each other’s. Second, as someone with nearly 26 years of military experience, I know operations rarely go as planned and getting all the details often takes months or years no matter how much debriefing or after action reports are produced. A lot of details are left out because personnel simply don’t want to own up to their own actions.

It is known that Osama Bin Laden was a CIA agent. He was controlled by US intelligent corps. Maybe he was dead by suffering illness and the murder by the US marine corps was a fiction.

I’m unsure if what was told to us concerning his death was accurate or not. Our Government has not been the pinnacle of truth through our history as a country. My own Native American People can vouch for this. Who knows what truly happened. I doubt we will really ever know.

Have you ever watched “The Hunting Party” starring Richard Gere? To me the whole thing is staged but I don’t know the details of what is really going on because it hasn’t stopped. I don’t know if Osama Bin Laden was who he says he is or not. But his death was SO fabricated it was almost funny! Sometimes I think he isn’t even dead yet. Where is the body?

Do you believe the world as a whole is overpopulated and therefore at or close to the absolute limit of what it can support? That’s the question we put to our Underground Knowledge group members in our latest poll on Goodreads.com.

120821

Interim poll results show that 57% of respondents believe planet Earth is not overpopulated, some 37% insist it is, and the balance (6%) are unsure.

Poll respondents’ comments make for interesting reading. Sample abridged comments (names withheld) follow:

I do not believe the world is overpopulated and believe the problem is actually a lack of fair distribution of resources, lack of priority given toward environmentalism and various other issues I’ve outlined in these two discussion threads:  https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/…  and https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/…

If you enjoy living in a world with no wild animals, no wild spaces, not open frontiers but enjoy snuggling up in cramped conditions with billions of people like you eating mass produced food and if you do not care that we are facing a massive decline in variety of specis of flora and fauna, the big species extinction wave, then with all those “if”s accepted, the world is not overpopulated for you.

The world is not overpopulated, the problem is such a wretched distribution of food, of wealth, of the basic necessities of life. Much too much is concentrated in the hands of the few, of the horridly corrupt. What if we stopped these insane endless wars and used that money to put in a well, a roof over the heads of families, food on their tables, medical care? Would we not all sleep better?

The world is not Close to the Limit, it has past it.

If the world had past its limit to support life you and every other human being on the planet would already be dead…

The population of the planet has more than doubled in my lifetime. Clearly this is not sustainable. Already there are many signs of strain, in species extinctions, widespread homelessness and hunger, pollution, climate change, wars over resources, etc. There are other factors involved but overpopulation fuels them all. By any standard the planet is grossly overpopulated now. It is not just a matter of space.

There’s loads of space. That’s not a problem. We could build islands, extend coastlines, utilize currently uninhabitable spaces…We’re not overpopulated but we sure as hell need to sort out our distribution and use of resources.

Do you believe capitalism should be restructured, replaced by another economic system or left exactly as is? That’s the question we put to our Underground Knowledge group members in our latest poll on Goodreads.com; we also address that question in our upcoming INTERNATIONAL BANKSTER$: The Global Banking Elite Exposed and the Case for Restructuring Capitalism (book five in our Underground Knowledge Series).

INTERNATIONAL BANKSTER$: The Global Banking Elite Exposed and the Case for Restructuring Capitalism (The Underground Knowledge Series, #5)

Interim poll results show that 53% of respondents believe capitalism should be restructured or reformed; 27% say it should be replaced by another system; 10% insist it should be left exactly as is; and the balance are unsure.

Poll respondents’ comments make for interesting reading. Sample abridged comments (names withheld) follow:

I’m essentially a Capitalist as I believe (however flawed) Capitalism is the only economic system ever devised that rewards entrepreneurial and/or hard-working individuals. So I’d never vote for Socialism or communism. However, I also think unregulated Capitalism has become one of the biggest problems facing society right now. It is allowing big business (including multinational monopoly-style companies) too much power and the average 9-5 worker is getting screwed.

Communism need not be the only alternative to Capitalism. A system should be devised which incorporates the good from both.

There is such abuse of capitalism… When money is the only objective at any cost you have a problem. The proposed TPP trade agreement is inherently wrong, again giving more power to the corporations. If you look at the 1888 introduction to Edward Bellamy’s Looking Backward you will see the workers still in the same position today. There must be social, economic, governmental and political change. Accountability must be instituted for corporations, none of which, including banks are too big to fail. War profiteering must end. Endless war must end. No one needs excessive billions of dollars at the expense of everyone else. Economic morality must be sadly legislated.

Capitalism should be reformed, so freedom can be secure for all, and finally the ones who were once left behind can be reached.

I think what critics are currently calling Capitalism and the free market are really corporatocracy and cronyism or “unregulated Capitalism” which is a different thing from what was originally in place in the US and much of the Western world. But whatever the case, I do think the wide scale economic or financial corruption by the elites is leading to increasing numbers becoming homeless, losing their homes, going bankrupt, not being able to pay their medical bills, etc, etc.

The greatest flaw of capitalism is the ability of corporate leaders to manipulate the political system to their benefit and to the detriment of everyone else. Making behavior like this a criminal offence, and enforcing the law, would go a long way toward reforming capitalism. To paraphrase Churchill, capitalism is the worst economic system there is, except for all the others.

Capitalism’s turned us into competitive human beings (which I don’t believe is good)and means we live in a system that benefits the rich and f…. the poor. Whether it’s modified or replaced, I don’t much care, as long as we can find a system that helps provide the necessities of life for everyone first. Then you can buy your Gucci dresses and blood diamonds.

Society must find a wise way to give food, shelter, education and health care to everyone. The change from capitalism to another system, needs first a big change in the way the majority thinks.

Poverty could be solved instantly if we wanted it to be- which would reduce crime, benefit the economy and be better for all concerned (oh, other than that current 1% at the top, but they’ve had their turn). I think it’s important we look beyond such things in the way that if someone says they’re anti-capitalist it must mean they’re a socialist, for instance. We base our understanding on the past and not with common sense in the present. . Feed, house, give water and energy to everyone and the world would soon change for the better. THEN you can start trying to attain whatever else your heart desires. Capitalism, in its current form, certainly doesn’t aid any of that.

Surely the genius and greatest evil of capitalism is that we all become both product and customer, consumer and consumed?

The problem cannot be blamed on shareholders, nor marketers. We must take self-responsibility.

Do you believe A.I. (artificial intelligence) will ever be more advanced/sophisticated than human intelligence? That’s the question we put in our latest poll to members of our Underground Knowledge Discussion Group on Goodreads.com. Most respondents to date have answered “Yes” to the question.

119009

In posting this most intriguing of questions, we suggest fellow ‘Undergrounders’  (group members) consider whether AI will ever surpass humanity “over all” — meaning AI might be able to beat human intelligence in isolated fields like a game of chess, but can it ever be more advanced in almost every other intellectual field?

To date, interim poll results — to the question “Do you believe A.I. (artificial intelligence) will ever be more advanced/sophisticated than human intelligence?” — are as follows:

53% say Yes / 37% say No / 10% are Unsure.

A random selection of members’ (abridged) responses follows:

I believed No before that the machine can transcend the capability of human brain. But I think there is a possibility that the machine can transcend the human brain by studying the bain mechanism from the standpoint of superluminal particles. In some future, we will obtain the technology for superluminal physics which can manupulate superluminal particles, which can lead to the realization of HAL 9000 in this world.

I voted NO in this poll and believe AI will never beat human intelligence. Reason being in my opinion (which is really just a gut instinct) is that human intelligence has an indefinable creativity inbuilt in it that is unprogrammable.

I think it’s a matter of how you define “intelligence.” In terms of storing knowledge, we’re already there. My desktop “knows” a whole lot more than I do and databases store more than we could ever remember and then, of course, there’s Wikipedia. Synthesizing data is slightly more complex, but certainly possible given enough “if-then” statements. A certain level of morality can be programmed relatively easily…However, creativity and having emotions are another story. Those define us as humans and individuals. It’s also the driving force behind most of our actions. How much that can ever be imbued in a machine or robot is another story.

I voted “no”, but if humans continue to behave at na inferior level, without improving their skills, of course we will be beaten by AI. I mean, if we want to stay at the level of AI, or better, to overpass it, humans need to keep working continuosly on themselves, and improve their institutions and societies…In the jungle, without preparation, even a chacal beats us…

Book review:

A Walk in the Rain  –by Udai Yadla

★★★★★ Exquisite!

This reader discovered ‘A Walk in the Rain’ is an oft-used title, gracing the covers of a number of books. However, Udai Yadla’s version must surely stand alone. It’s truly unique and beautifully written. Exquisite!

Aptly subtitled ‘A journey of love and redemption,’ it is exactly that. A romantic, often intense, occasionally delicate and always gripping tale of a love found and lost, and an unforgettable journey of self-discovery.

The writing is tight but not rushed, the characterization is excellent and the storyline grabs you from the prologue right through to the last page. A must-read! Sterling Gate Books

Synopsis:
Love is poison that kills you. Love is elixir that keeps you alive. An unreciprocated love keeps you alive, but kills every day.

Heartbroken Sunny lives a reclusive life, trapped in the past, living in his memories. He has no complaints about his life, but refuses to embrace the present.

Saloni is a prostitute who is desperate to earn money by any means. She does not care about exploiting others to fulfill her purpose.

Fate unites the loner and the prostitute to embark on a life changing journey of retribution and self discovery.

Lovelorn Sunny turns misogynistic after Sandy, the only girl he loved walks away from his life, unannounced. He suffers painful solitude for almost two decades with the relentless haunting of her thoughts. A distressed friend Imran, vows to change his life forever. A surprise planned for his birthday turns into a tragedy that claims the life of his dear friend, triggering a series of unbelievable events. As Imran gets killed by a stranger, Sunny’s calm life suddenly turns into a turbulent storm. With nothing left to live for, vengeance becomes his ultimate mission. His reluctant alliance with a prostitute to trace the killer sets him onto a nerve racking adventure of life and death.

Both are bound to a common goal with different motives, but destiny has its own motive.

A walk in the rain is an intricate tale of intense emotions, driven by hair raising twists and turns.

Two thirds of respondents in the latest poll in our Underground Knowledge discussion group on Goodreads.com state they don’t believe the official 9/11 story that World Trade Center 7 (aka Building 7) collapsed solely as a result of fires.

911-truth-7-facts-about-building-7

The poll, which ends April 3rd, poses the following question: Do you believe World Trade Center 7 (aka Building 7), which no plane hit on 9/11, collapsed solely due to fires as per the official story?

Interim results are: 67% say No; 19% say Yes; 14% are unsure.

This comment from one respondent is typical of most received to date: “There’s no doubt in my mind that Building 7 was all part of the plan to make it look like a terrorist attack. Big buildings like that don’t just collapse unless explosives are set in just the right places to cause a controlled implosion.”

More comments follow:

I don’t think many people even know about Bldg 7 – which just goes to show you how they quickly controlled the media and everything to hide the obvious.

I recall a firefighter saying he heard the owner of the building saying to “pull it”. Soon afterward, the building collapsed. The term “pull it” is often used as a demolition term, meaning to activate the explosives to bring a building down.

The mysterious collapse of World Trade Center 7 on 9/11 — Governor Jesse Ventura investigates (video) https://www.goodreads.com/videos/7299… Jesse Ventura, the 38th Governor of Minnesota, investigates the bizarre collapse of Building 7 on 9/11.

I believe it was all designed to bring in the anti-terrorism laws that have since stripped the American people of most of their rights and freedoms. Something the Canadian government is trying to bring about too now.

I heard Building 7 was not even investigated in the government’s official 9/11 investigation (which many say had as much credibility as the Warren Commission…)

A man in the UK successfully defended his non-payment of the TV licence by claiming that the BBC knew about WTC 7’s collapse about 20 minutes before it actually did, that they denied this fact, and therefore they were part of the terrorist plot, and his payment of the licence fee would in effect mean that he was providing aid to a terrorist group.
